Larry, he only played 13 season, just think if he made it 22 years!

dude is already arguing after a highlight reel of both players before the debate even begun... seriously? you that afraid this video says your precious lebron isn't the goat? Jordan did specifically talk about shooting 3 pt, basically saying he didn't want that to stop him from driving the paint.

The 3 isn't big BECUASE of Steph Curry, STEPH CURRY is big because of the 3. The NBA legalized zone defense before the 2001-2002 season. That changed the game 2 ways. First- all the teams sat in a zone and protected the lane and the rim. SO ... cause and effect.... everyone started launching 3's. Second- because of sitting in that zone, no one LEARNED how to play "in your face, man up" defense. They are only playing half of the "game" of basketball. NOW add that if you just breathe on someone it's a foul? You can't even "hand check" someone. LET THE FLOPPING BEGIN!!!! That why the ratings suck- No one watches soccer either.

Runner up is "First Loser". If Jordan played in THIS era? He'd average 50 a game. The NBA doesn't play defense anymore. You'd be throwing a piranha in the koi pond.

One of the most memorable games I ever saw was the Celtics v Hawks in which Bird and Wilkins went back and forth through the entire game. Absolutely amazing game!!!

The "not athletic" thing is actually "playing injured." When he wasn't injured, he was very very athletic.

Hey young buck..will not be a asshole and say that a bunch of people have tried to tell you this stuff probably .. but that's why we're so adamant about Jordan being the goat...I can only say that you would have to watch some of the games and then you would see Jordan was a totally different animal 1 bad mother f,er and literally changed the game this coming from a old man the older you get the wiser you get

The fact that Bird was not flashy is what gets misconstrued as unathletic , I don’t care where on that roster you place the fact that you made the NBA means you are athletic

I love the quote by a former coach that said that if he had to pick one player to take a shot to win a game he would pick Jordan, but if he had to pick one player to take a shot to save his life, he would pick Bird.

You take into account that almost everyone else in the league was a lot more athletic than he was and you get a better idea of how good he was. The ONLY player that can be considered better than him is Michael Jordan, and Bird dominated Jordan in their win / loss records against each others teams... I believe it was 12-1 all time including the playoff sweeps...

Hi from France!! Michael Jordan apart from his stats is the greatest of all time because there were many good players before him but he alone brought the whole world to this sport and the NBA and in this generation audiences are falling every day! ! And the “peak” in all of this is Jordan!! Making 3 in a row is shit so stopping basteball for two years, coming back and winning 3 times in a row is fucking madness that will never exist again!! And in style!! 6 finals, 6 titles, 6 MVPs, not a single game 7 in 7 finals and having played his entire career with only one team and only one other All-Star Scottie Pippen!! He is the absolute GOAT!!

Compare GOATs to GOATs MJ and Dr. J were high flying, cape wearing ( Space Jam) superhero class players to their fans ( cult hero class), But... When comparing GOATs 2 GOATs, NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and PGA, Jordan is not even in the class. Only 2 GOATs ... Babe Ruth and Tom Brady match up with Lebron James' appearances in 10 final championships with different teams. Babe Ruth lost 3 Brady lost 4 James lost 6. Asterisk (Not A GOAT) on Kareem's 10 appearances (Majic Johnson joined the Lakers and carried Kareem to 9 more) and lost 4. Finally Next level GOAT Jack Nicklaus won 17 major championships he lost 19 times (at 2nd place)!!!!! When you compare MJ to Lebron, you don't even know what a GOAT looks like. Every GOAT in Every League played for more than 20 years. Unreal!!!

Bird came to the Celtics when they were 23-59 the season before. In his rookie year, with no other additions, he took the Celtics to a 61-21 record. 1989, with the addition of Pippen, was the first year the Bulls were a winning team. That was four years after Jordan came in the league. Bird, with a rooke McHale and a trade for three year vet, no all star selections, Parish, won the title in his second year.
