I definitely believe that the final timeline, was the result of the last villain they didn't meet till later. Specifically... Cozy Glow, who somehow performed the same trick to remove ALL magic from equestria. Hence why it looks like the sun and moon were stuck at sunrise instead of sunset similar to nightmare moon. Unlike in Gen5 where magic's removal led to peace, and such... This was a 100% total magic removal. Not even a piece of magical tech could move the sun or moon. Sure at first Cozy Glow's plan worked.. But with no sun or moon orbiting, some places would be hot 100% of the time, some places cold 100%. And a very SMALL sliver of space being livable, hence the breathable atmosphere still present. All life would slowly die off due to the lack of livable space for food to grow and water to still exist. Pegasi probably wouldn't even be able to fly, considering the Bewitching bell did the same thing and made flying impossible. So every pony was just... Earth ponies without any skills. Cutie Marks disappear entirely, Discord's statue just fading away since he was a magical spirit.

I think its a recessive gene. Mistmane, a unicorn had it *and* genes can activate later in life. It would explain both Twilight *and* Luna! She originally had a normal straight mane but then it was wavy. The wavy mane genes kicked in between appearances in the show. When Twilight got the magic of three other alicorns it caused her recessive wavy mane genes to temporarily kick in. maybe one of Twilights grandparents had a wavy mane!

Plot twist: they were born unicorns during the times of racism but originally didn’t care about the separation until their friend(who was in love with an earth pony) got them really thinking about the situation and together the three basically began a movement to unite the three tribes and after equestria was created, Celestia and Luna became alicorns and then the new rulers while their friend got with their lover and was the first pony to give birth to kids of a different race.

Everything that you said here as well as something else. The majority of Twilight and her friends’ accomplishments happen either in Ponyville, Canterlot or the Crystal Empire. So if you are a pony that lives in Manehattan the only way you would know anything about her (including her appearance) is through the news/paper. I believe Nightmare Moon is the only villain that affected all of Equestria. However, ponies at the time may have just thought that Celestia messed up the time to raise the sun. Discord affected Ponyville Christalis affected Canterlot Sombra affected the Crystal Empire Discord’s plunder seeds affected Canterlot and Ponyville Terak affected Ponyville While Starlight’s time travel would have affected everyone, most probably had no idea what had just happened/almost happened or who fixed it. The Pony if Shadows affected Ponyville The Storm King affected Canterlot Only at the finale is all of Equestria affected. So for most ponies unless they saw a picture of Twilight in an article they probably wouldn’t know what she looks like, or even what she’s done for that matter. Like you said, her appearance isn’t so different from the average pony. By the time of her coronation there had probably been enough articles about her and her friends for ponies to know about her but I doubt the average pony knows about everything she and her friends did.

Okay- Hot take The last timeline is the Starlight Glimmer timeline. Imagine this: after all the chaos and strife, and downright thermonuclear-warfare, Equestria is in shambles. Somewhere far away from all the action, is Starlight, and her village. Starlight's already a leader, and it probably wouldn't be hard to get more followers. Once she has enough, she easily sweeps all the remaining fighters, removing and utilizing their cutie marks to make her invincible. However, all the power gets to her, and she makes some rash descisions, accidentaly destroying what's left of Equestra. Skip to the Starlight in the Cutie Re-mark, and Twilight has just taken her to her own world. Starlight's reaction to seeing the apocolypse timeline, makes perfect sense. Also, Starlight proclaims that the apocolypse world could just be "What Twilight was showing her." However once coming back, Starlight realizes that Twilight probably didn't know how to show her a fabricated timeline. Upon this realization, she flips, and becomes good. Q: how does Starlight know the apocolypse world was the one she ruled? A: she probably had some knowlage related to it, after all of her time spent studying time-travel. (Okay, it's a weak point, I'm sorry) Q: why, specificly, was this the Starlight timeline? A: probably because this was the only one that Starlight actually visited

i think the reason rainbow dash plays SUCH a huge role in how each timeline plays out is because SHES the reason all the main 6 got their cutie marks and SHES the one being messed with. starlight isnt messing with twilight, pinkie, etc and barely fluttershy. its RAINBOW she messed with, leading for her to have the most impact in each timeline because shes the reason it changed in the first place
