I love your videos xxxAs a clinical Aromatherapist I have some oh no moments while watching some KZbin videos. People don't know what they don't know. Myself included. My pop back in the 1940s gave me some great recipes. So I know- Vinegar in cement- since cement is highly alkaline vinegar can cause alkaline burn. vinegar is acetic acid, it neutralises the alkaline effects of cement and weakens the life span of cement. Adding more than 1% of flour to cement also weakens the structure. I did recently write a book to share my caring knowledge. I returned to cement craft at age 76 and my memory bank needed some help. Lol. Book "Garden Art Cement Sculpting The Do and Don'ts" by Robyn Ji Smith How do I get InTouch with you?

@VennasNatureАй бұрын
@@sangueguerriero9538 Yes I have made fountains and gnomes about 3 ft tall. If they are kept out of extreme weather . Especially freezing weather they will last. so far mine have lasted 4 yrs. I suggest keep them out of direct sprinklers, out of direct afternoon sun and either cover with plastic tarp or bring indoors in the winter. cement will deteriorate like your cement sidewalks and roads when subjected to harsh weather and constant water and sun. I hope this helps have fun with it😁👍

Brilliant! A great explanation of the process. I’m thinking about creating a Japanese style rock garden. Is there a way to make rocks that are very light in color such as white, very light gray or ivory colored? And also rocks that are blackish. What can I add to the mixture to give them some random speckles and textural variation to the natural look of the surface? Cheers, sincerely Ray from Seattle.😊
@VennasNature2 ай бұрын
@@raynichol8959 Well thank you so much for your kind words😁 As far as fillers for color there are cement pigments you can order or you also just play around with the color of the agate and dirt you use with the portland cement. Also there is white portland cement though I've never used it because I can't find it here. Have fun with your garden😁👍

I can't wait to make a pair of these for my front yard. I never tried this type of project, but it looks like fun. Yes, if a small group of chickens are "hand raised" and get used to their names and being picked up, they listen. It goes for other animals too. We had 15 head of cattle, 5 sheep, including a Big Horn, 4 goats and 15 chickens- all named. We added a Banty rooster that belonged to my neighbor. He would try to disappear if he heard the neighbor's car or truck coming past. He hid in the barn behind my bull calf, when the neighbor came over, so I never gave him back. He used to sit on my daughter's shoulder when she did chores. I learned a lot from my animals. All were like my 10 kids, and were treated as part of the family.

I love your chicken! I want to make one like it and bought some of the things like Elmer’s glue, plaster of Paris and the cloths to put on the ball. Problem I had was when I mixed the glue and plaster of Paris (to make the head etc) it was soooo gooey I couldn’t shape it into anything let alone get it off my gloves. I did use Vaseline like you said and measured the amount according to your recipe. Why didn’t it come out like yours?
@VennasNature4 ай бұрын
@@bodacious415 hmmm I wonder if you used glue all or school glue? Also I wonder if weather plays into it? Next time just add a little extra plaster. like adding flour to a recipe to get the consistency you want. Good luck I hope it will work out for you

@@VennasNature I’m pretty sure I used Elmer’s all purpose glue. I don’t remember what the weather was like, it could have been very humid during that time. Maybe it had something to do with it. Okay, what IF I were to start making one of these cement "Gnome houses", and I had been able to form a good bit of the gnomes home, but I had run out of ingredients. So, once I had been able to get those much needed ingredients, I was able to go back to admitting that NOW I have to possibly hope that most normal folks are really wondering if it would be okay for most people to be okay without them kissing the butt's of the most famous and rich people in the country or the WORLD.
