Hello, interesting infos, but where did you find that Seal has 800V technologie ? I see that the Sealion, latest car, has only 550.4 V battery... WAB charging curve, by cold weather, without pre-conditioning ; see that experience : kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKHVZahsqK2ei7ssi=2WDiaXX197kh1_cP
@jcziviani4 күн бұрын
Seal owner here. 800V is the voltage limit technology. The math is simple, the Seal has 172 Blade batteries in series, each one with nominal 3.2V. So 172 x 3.2V= 550V (nominal).
@honesty_-no9he4 күн бұрын
The new China version has 800 volt charging and is coming to Europe. Also the top version of the SEALION 7 has 800volt charging. They exported 400volt charging on the first generation to match the reality of charging infrastructure. That has now improved.

That is interesting. In Thailand it costs about 30,000 Euros. Maybe it is a different variant? We got the 70 kWh battery and there is only one model.

Did he mis-speak saying the NCM does 8,500 charge cycles, but LFP only does 5000? (I assume he meant 850 charge cycles for NCM... in line with other sources I've seen)

On Highway with 110kmh you will have a range of 200km in summer and in Winter only 170km. I have never driven 300km!

10:14 "Once you experience, you will not go back". Nope. It is a "passenger behind a steering wheel" mindset. - Even with one pedal mode we need to use sometimes a brake pedal with emergency cases... And when people use two pedals rarely, they are slow, not skilled enough and can rely only on electronics. - Regen can return only up to 40% of the energy spent. It allows us to get back some energy when we need to slow down. But the coasting is more energy efficient. Two pedals mode is more convenient as it allows you coasting when you need and get back some energy when you need - as (according to Volvo docs) even break pedal engages regen first and uses brakes pads only with very intensive braking.

You say the future is electric but can you tell us why most automotive companies are already reconsidering going back to ICE?
@TheFutureisElectric10 күн бұрын
Which companies are these….

No - I don't like driving with regeneration, I find it much more comfortable driving with NO regeneration while enjoying a smooth ride. Unfortuneately the Niro EV still regererates with 1-3 kW when regeneration is turned fully off unlike my old Ioniq, that could turn it completely off. I have to change to Neutral to glide down hills using NO electricity 🙂

The Electric car is a temple on four wheels. Behind there is a racket. When the Lithium-Ion batteries fail. To replace them the price is that of a new vehicle. Do they store parts and relays? Once you get a problem you have to scrape.
@TheFutureisElectric26 күн бұрын
Do you say this from any real world experience… From my perspective of 13 years and counting of having EVs in the family. With an EV count of now up to 25 cars! Nobody would ever consider going back. No batteries replaced thus far ;-)

Legacy automaker VW/Skoda/Seat made already such a cheap electric car e-up/citigo iv/Mii elecric even with 268 km range. Unfortunately VW-group stopped production 2 years ago, evenso there was a lot of demand for this electric car. Leap motor T03 can now take this market ... from legacy automaker VW-group
@TheFutureisElectric27 күн бұрын
Fair point, even after incentives though, that car was 4,000 more expensive than this car.
@lucvandamme3336 күн бұрын
Thats not the thruth. I bought my new Seat Mii electric in 2020 in Belgium and I paid net after discount and 4000 euro incentive, only 14950 euro. In Germany you could purchase this same car at that time for less than 13000 euro inclusive the 9000 euro incentive granted by the German Federal State. This is well below the price you’ve to pay for the Leap Motors T03 today. By the way I’m still very happy with this car and during the 57000 km I didn’t have any costs, very cheap insurrance and no motor taxes do apply till 2026.
@marcgove680629 күн бұрын
Time will tell usually cheap price means cheap quality. Throw away.

Although not this specific car, I do have experience owning an EV which is comparable. The MG ZS EV. The car has 44.5 kwh (42 usable) NMC battery and 263km wltp range. I own mine since 2021 and have done about 90000km. I have yet to see any noticeable reduction in its range. I do charge it below 90% most of the time and in real world it can drive about 220km on a charge reliably. In the time I had this car I had zero issues or breakdowns. It can be an alternative for someone who needs a larger car and doesn't mind a used car.

If you don't own a garage and charge it all the time using the public chargers. Is it bad for the batteries? Using the fast charging all the time?
@TheFutureisElectric29 күн бұрын
Since batteries are cooled and temperature controlled. Rapid or slow charging shouldn’t affect the lifespan
@waynerm002Ай бұрын
I've seen this car in Malaysia and the build quality is pretty good, seats are comfortable, front and rear. The rear cushions are a bit longer with a good seating position (5" 8"), it is really roomy in the rear cabin. I was surprised by the power specs for a vehicle of this size, as in I expected more and faster charging speed as well. It would be nice with a higher capacity battery, longer range and some wider tires to give it a bit of sporty driving and handling feel.
@encodersofiaАй бұрын
Front side is the wrong side for the charging port. It is a lot easier to maneuver back into tight spaces and it is a lot easier to get out forward from tight spaces

Where are the 3 cameras placed on the exterior of the car? One at the rear, and the other on the windscreen facing foward? Presume the 3rd camera is for the driver (inattention detection)?
@romel58Ай бұрын
Looking at the owner's manual, it seems you are correct. Front windscreen, rear and one inside the cabin to monitor driver for fatigue.

I agree. This is the first electric small car that is worth its price. It is also a tried and tested car that has been sold in large numbers in China since 2020. And that is why I have now bought the T03.

Can you please make a comment about the safety of the vehicle?
@TheFutureisElectricАй бұрын
The car still needed to be tested by NCAP, however based on what we know and the technology inside it including 3 cameras, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, driver tiredness detection, blind spot detection, my guess is this should achieve a very high safety testing score. I never felt unsafe when driving the car in Milan, it felt rock solid, despite its size

@@stegibabajamashim4390 to add to that LFP batteries are often regarded safer than NCM batteries too.

I think it’s had it in relation to the Dacia Spring . £10k maybe . I still think it’s a hec of a nice design; very pleasing .
@toyotaprius79Ай бұрын
The T-03 has a leg up on the Dacia Spring in every way. Tool kits for cheap cheerful chinese EVs is the key political hot potato at the moment and those who want EVs or any fuel for that matter want and need real competitive diversity including LFP & sodium ions. However the EU Commission/EPP/NATO's tariffs on chinese batteries and solar has absolutely strung us up in a rock amd hard place situation. Because of Ursula's EV tariffs China gas immediately halted any exports like tooling, labour and investment to build the tool kit factories in the EU - which for Stellantis and Leapmotors has cut them off from the knees.

After 4 years of grief living with an electric car, given the extreme cold winter weather we have here in Canada where global warming is a farce to everybody other than the ones on-board with the lies, please let me know what the range of this one is in minus 40 (-40 °C or °F, take your pick) weather with the heat on when you have a chance!😂. Nuclear is where it's at, if you really want to be green. When they make those, I might actually want one.

Thanks, I appreciate your comment. Wind noise in both cars honestly was very good, despite the frameless door windows the seals are great. Compared to everything else I’ve tried, this is one of the better ones.
