By the way, I just ordered a Dr. Grabow Royal Duke in rustic red-brown finish.

That's all you got? Brother, that's all you need. I truly loved this video. Everything was perfect, from the snow (winter is my favorite season), to the piano blues (I'm an amateur jazz pianist), to watching you do chores while smoking a pipe (truly badass). And then, the shift to the indoor scene, close up on your face, with your stern and serious scowl (you look like a boxer or MMA fighter about to execute your opponent in the ring)! Dr Grabow should hire you to be their spokesperson. Dr Grabow pipes are badass pipes, for badass pipe smokers! Thanks for the upload. I know it's 4 years old, but I just discovered your channel and was quite impressed. I'll subscribe.

I want to thank you for your opinion on this. I am using pipe smoking as a way to stop drinking. I always had this mentality of not eating so I could reach a certain level of intoxication. A problem I have been having with pipe smoking is the nicotine getting me there much faster than I am accustomed to. Your video has moved me to make sure I am properly nourished before I try winding down with a nice pipe at the end of the day

Dr. grabow was the first brand of pipe I started with along with the missouri meershaum... Unfortunatly the last one I bought...A collectors choice...Wasnt made very well. The metal part of the bit came out of the bit and even after tryin to glue it back in with gorilla glue... It lasted only a month before commin loose again. Aint too sure I wanna buy anymore now although I still have some of the older ones I bought back in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Damn I like the way you put things into perspective. I’m about two months into my second go at a pipe. 1st go was pre you tube lol. There are so many videos and so much information it’s hard to keep up sometimes and forget to just sit back and smoke your pipe

I do laugh at the naivety of people who believe the relaxing aspect of their pipe smoking habit has nothing to do with the nicotine

As an ex cigarette smoker, I actually prefer the nicotine kick from (non-inhaled) pipe tobacco. It's not a guarantee, it's not instantly gratifying, but with a kick from pipe tobacco, it feels mellow but present lol

I've been smoking my Cardinal for more than 25 years now. Still works just fine and I see no need to upgrade or get a new one. Still get my butter rum tobacco and filters from the same little shop I've gone to since I got the pipe, too.

That's the magic of the pipe. When pipe smoking with another, two smokes collide. The Old Ones would say that two hearts were joining together through smoke. It's something sacred, and has nor needs, any words.

It's a lot easier to clench if dentures aren't in use, and pain free teeth are actually there. Holding the pipe and putting it just to the lips, becomes a way of life.

There was a time when smoking in the hospital was no problem. I remember several of the doctors who smoked pipes. Sitting at the nurses station, writing into the charts of their patience, and puffing a pipe. Then, still puffing, walking to Hall to visit another patient. The door was knocked on, and the pipe was dropped into the lab coat pocket. The physician gave a physical exam of the progress, took the time to answer questions, often, repulling the pipe from pocket, taking a puff or two, then answering the question. Then back to the charting desk, it was. I learned from my master professor, that it's not uncommon to not know the answer, but it is important to know where to get the answer. And for a few very fortunate patience, the answers came to their phyisicisn, through the pipe. Interesting, there was never once an incident of in house staph infection. I think that that particular infection realized, why bother? A pipe smoker will know what to do.

Quick shops can be the best diners. Plenty of choices of pop and almost always, a weenie roller, filled with hotdogs, and sometimes, egg rolls. Often times, work takes me well beyond the point of cooking, but we have a 24hr Speedway. Siska, my four legged companion, enjoys late night rides, stopping first at the post chute to drop off a stack of letters, then onto Speedway. Hot dogs and chips with chili. A great place to sit, taking the time to really enjoy the meal, and simply watch people.

Thanks, Steve! I actually agree on Haunted Bookshop. I’m not a big fan, but because of the perique. The spiciness is too much, which ended up being an issue with OJK as well, even though I enjoy that one. Have a good one!
