I thought "Divorce In Black" was the guy not working and going through his rich wife's money snd she comes to herself and realizes she needs to divorce. He goes after her with alimony, manipulating deals to bilk her money and she fights back, determined not to be broke (in the red) afterward. It then will show how she outwits him and keeps the remainder of her money.

lol, EXACTLY what I thought at first. And then, when he was rushing the divorce, and she was randomly just wanting to sign without reading, I thought....she's going to get screwed because he's probably asking for the house and all sorts of shyt. But nope, never went anything like that. Thanks for watching/commenting.

Nope it wasn't the greatest and there was no character build up. But i felt that that story was more relatable to some women than ppl want to speak about. Dealing with an alcoholic man with a dysfunctional family who was jealous of her bcuz they were all dust buckets and they felt that she thought she was better than them. She had young love syndrome and wanted to love him thru his pain, thinking she was being a wife. Yes, She was blinded beyond all understanding. Maybe its just me but I was looking at the torture dynamics of dealing with an alcoholic and how it affects those around you. His mother was a gutter snipe who was just as masculine as her sons. She, too, was the main catalyst, who should have been focused on a lot more. I can think of other ways it could have been played out, but this was a typical BW taking shit from a broken dysfuntional ass man bcuz his family wasn't shit. Cuz when you kno better you do better. At the end, when she told the mother to let it go bcuz this is what you get when you push good ppl too far you get what ur hand calls for. Did anybody else see this? Would luv to hear your opinions!

Really a great take on it all. Yep. Perhaps the elements were there for some decent story telling but...unfortunately....it was put together and written terribly which takes ANY type of messaging or real value. Thanks for watching/commenting.

I've never watched a Tyler Perry movie from beginning to end. If a Tyler Perry movie is on TV that means I'm at the girl Im dating house. Im at someone else's house for Thanksgiving or Christmas. His movies have never interested me. I dont find him funny at all. I dont like his portrayal of black people, black Americans living in the South. I do admire and appreciate him as a businessman. Aside from that I can't watch his movies. Acting? His acting I can watch. By acting I mean he's acting in movies that other people have directed or written. He was great in "Don't Look Up." His acting in other people's movies doesn't seem to rub off on him to where it makes his movies better.

He doesn’t give a damn 😂😂 I’ve been analyzing him myself, and I’m starting to think he does it on purpose. He films his movies in days. He filmed his movie Acrimony in 5 days. He filmed a whole season of one of his shows in 2 weeks. He doesn’t want to spend money, he is very very cheap… or saving up for something, IDK! Cause he works the crew to the bone, 16hr+ days, back to back.

Brandon's father is a Jackson alright and definitely spent time with the Jackson family growing up but if you listen to his voice with your eyes closed and do the same with each Jackson brother when he was more or less Bravdon's age, you'll realize that he sounds just like Jermaine which would also explain why Jafaar 'one of Jermaine's sons with the Jaccckson famiky name) got the part to play his brother Michael even though I agree that Brandon is the better 'singer' of the two (we'll have to see about the dancing...). Brandon's collaborations with Tito's son Taryl and Javet on the song 'Perfect fit' as well as his collaboration with Jackie's son Siggy further confirm that he's a Jackson!!!

I agree with you. Even in films like temptation and acrimony there was some background of the relationship of the antagonist of the protagonist to make us care about the character and to make it real. I have very low expectations of this film so I wasn’t disappointed. I was actually able to enjoy it on a comedic level.

Am I tripping but did Debbie Morgan have an odd lisp? Corey hardick was playing a Tyler Perry character so as such he did phenomenal. That’s the quintessential Tyler Perry black man. Lastly Tyler Perry is a great writer and director. Well maybe not great but he’s very good. His problem is that he’s trying to write and direct a million things at once by himself as fast as he can. That’s a recipe for disaster.
@THATGUYTALKSMOVIES
@THATGUYTALKSMOVIES 2 күн бұрын
I agree, Corey probably performed terribly to keep it consistent with other TP works/characters. None the less, still terrible! As for TP being a great or even good...writer.....well...that's totally subjective I guess as evidenced by all of the TP fans who think he deserves screenwriting Oscars. lol. I don't even think he's a "good writer." At best, he's got the ability to put together bad stories and script them out enough via his formula that works for a very, very, very simple audience not looking for much. And yes, good point, the fact that he's trying to do multiple projects of this nature by himself just makes everything...that much more.....terrible! Thanks for watching/commenting!

He started out decent. In those early years it looks like he took his time to make something watchable. I think "The Family that Preys" is his best work. If I could pinpoint the moment he absolutely stopped giving a fuck and started focusing on money, then it'll be "Madea's Witness Protection." That's when I stopped watching his movies. I haven't seen all of his movies. I made the mistake and went to see that "Madea's Funeral" foolishness back when it was in the theaters. I walked out after about 30 minutes. What I couldn't understand was the reaction of the packed audience in the movie theater. "These fools think this shit is good," I said to myself while walking out.

How can you NOT know that Cory Hardrict is a veteran actor? He’s been in the industry since his childhood. In my opinion, this review would seem much more credible if you’d done a little research on the cast members’ filmography beforehand. The movie is derivative; see Lifetime’s ’Death saved my Life’ in which Maegan Good is the lead actor - typical made-for-TV film with a much better plot. The opening scene of ‘Divorce in the Black’ was irreverent, so too was the pastor - Christianity teaches self-control, wisdom, prudence. I have yet to see a Tyler Perry film where blacks are not depicted as their worst selves- degenerates who succumb to every desire however destructive. There wasn’t a single righteous character in a film in which a Christian family is more or less the center. As for the acting, it was theatrical which is typical of Tyler Perry’s films and actors - perhaps it’s a prerequisite.
