I'm (very slowly) trying to incorporate more fantasy decor in my home. My favorite part so far is having an old-fashioned (like the "witch" style) broom from a living history museum that's hanging near the ceiling, with dried herbs hanging from it 😍

Love that! I also love having some “woodland” inspired pieces as my mom calls it ☺️

Turkish style rugs! As a Turkish person who has a rug in her room for a medieval aesthetic, I so approve. What a beautiful video, I am still watching but I love it already. ❤

Thank you so much! They’re one of my favorites for decor! One day I’ll have a true woven Turkish rug ☺️

What a lovely video. Hej from rural Sweden. I'm a very old woman now but was a New Romantic back in the day and you remind me very much of those great days and the aesthetic. Our home here is mid century built and with the lower part sunken into the ground. So the downstairs part which contains which we call a "hobby room" has a wood fireplace halfway up the wall, with glazed doors. Three of the walls and the ceiling are all wood. It's essentially a cabin look. But my favourite aesthetic is a kind of cross between Skyrim decor and barbarian heroic fantasy. So we have antlers on the walls with ornamental weaponry and tapestries and various hides and furs (my trade before retiring was animal hide tanning and fur making) and a very old Grandmother clock with a pendulum. The sofas are wooden with padded cushions, heavy and functional and very comfortable. Logs for the fire are kept in a very old wooden laundry box beside the hearth. I am blind in one eye so don't like overhead lighting. So we use candles and oil lamps. There's also a small writing bureau with a wooden stool to sit on because I still think letter writing is a wonderful thing. I can recommend searching for reenactment items for most aesthetics. I was a Viking Age reenactor and made many of my own things (including a warp weighted loom) but there's a huge market in decor which would fit perfectly what you suggest. It's refreshing to see people unafraid to live their own aesthetic and not blindly or lazily follow what may be "fashionable" in mainstream.

Some other ideas I can think of are telescopes, celestial whimsigoth style accessories (it makes me think of a wizard’s robes), an astrolabe, and maybe some old coins spilling from a velvet or leather change purse.

Your little chaos child trying to knock over the camera and then being so indignant/sassy made me chuckle 😂 Im currently working on my gallery walls, it's like a collage for your wall 😋

Another fabulous video brimming with so many wonderful ideas my head is spinning. I love all the things you mention yet I never thought to use them in this way, to create a more fantasy feel to my dwelling. Thanks again for all the time and effort you put into making this video!

When we bought the place, there were already torch bulbs in the lamps by our fireplace- it's kind of asking for it.@@Incandescentkiki

@Incandescentkiki my fiance said when we don't rent he wants a game room. He loves dark/demon souls, elden ring. I will use some of these for decor tips. I even imagine making the door a hidden door.

I've found that just having wood furniture or painting and switching out knobs for furniture really helps. im the process of redoing my room to be more cohesive and my style lately and one of my big projects was painting my black ikea desk and bookshelf green, adding doors on the bookshelf with brozen looking knobs and adding trim and a pull handle to my desk draws. im no builder but it was all relatively easy to do and improved it a lot! also dont be afraid to use non desk chairs liking dining chairs or occasional chairs, I was lamenting over the modern desk chairs being nothing like my style when i just realised i could get a vintage chair second hand for cheaper anyway. some other things ive got is a diy "moss rug" out of green pompoms and a no slip mat and jars with things like petals, buttons and beads, also just a lot of dried flowers in jars/bottles/vases

Love this! We do so many similar ideas in our house except we use a map to cover the tv 🤭 we want to go to a projector setup though so that we can (like you) continue to cover our walls. Something else we do is we change out the knobs/handles on prefab furniture, but we also found that you can change out the legs to sofas as well!

For records I recommend Camalot, Blind Guardian, Celtic Woman, Night Wish, and Beast in Black. A lot of the ones mention have rock in them, but still sound medieval revival. I suggest listening to Blind and Frozen from Beast in Black on KZbin to get an idea.

I got a mounted jewelry box wall mirror from my husband for one of our anniversaries. I needed it so much I had no idea just how much jewelry I actually owned until I put the jewelry and realized I had more jewelry than space.

My cat eats real plants, and my dog eats real AND fake plants.🤣 My dog at my poor lime tree that I'd had for years in a whiskey barrel and was the only thing I kept from my house after my divorce (other than my books).

Hey, also, I really do play flute and cello. I need a good way to display my cello that's also SAFE for it, with critters. Hmm, maybe I'll get a cheap fake, now that I think about it. :D Or ooh, hang the old bows I don't use? Would that look musical or just like a wierd collection of sticks?
