When I put the vacuum hose in the wall, it works, but when I tried the switch to make it more powerful (it used to), it no longer switches on in that regard. More or less, it vacuums, but I don’t actually have to plug the plug itself into the wall anymore because that function does not work anymore. Not sure what has changed.
@Centvac5 күн бұрын
Hi Susan, it sounds like the vacuum suction is working but the rotating power brush for carpets is not. This is likely a problem with the electrical wiring in the hose. A new hose should solve the problem, but sometimes the old hoses can be repaired to save money. Hope this helps!

Is this motor reversible so it could be a blower?
@CentvacАй бұрын
@@Petrochemtester it's not reversible, but it can indeed be used as a blower simply by connecting to the exhaust horn. One caution, since these motors are made for suction, they won't tolerate a lot of back pressure on the exhaust if the motor isn't bolted down. Even so, this should be used for a high volume and lower pressure blowing application.

Good tips and nice approach. One other thing that I learned is that the contacts inside of the wall inlet can get oxidized, especially if in a less-frequently used inlet. I was getting no service in my upstairs inlet (less used) when plugging in the hose, yet the hose worked in other outlets. Was just about to order a new wall inlet but quickly cleaned the two small metal contacts in the upper portion of the inlet with a little alcohol on a paper towel. Let dry for 10 minutes and back in business.

My receiver and transmitter are connecting (green lights come on together when handle is toggled on), and canister will work if I press the power button on it, but it won't come on when I toggle the handle on. All plugs and cables look to be connected. Just stopped working one day. Suggestions?
@CentvacАй бұрын
Try touching a piece of metal across the two low voltage signal wires that go between the receiver and your canister. If that doesn't turn the canister on, I would suspect the canister's relay board needs to be replaced.

I have this same unit. I found a small LED bulb with a candelabra base that allows replacement of the short-lived incandescent bulb with use of a bayonette/candelabra adapter. Then I put some more reflective tape behind it. Works great. The other thing, my vacuum repair guy told me about, is, once the belt is removed, take a piece of chalk, turn on the motor, and rub the chalk on the motor spindle, which removes residue and so makes the new belt grip better.

Might I ask: you seem to really like the 45° fittings, whats wrong with sweep-tees?
@Centvac2 ай бұрын
Great question! The sweep tees are acceptable but I prefer the 45 wyes because they are a more versatile fitting and also provide a more gentle entry angle for the branch line. On commercial jobs and retractable installs, I would recommend using 45 wyes exclusively. For residential traditional system installs we often use the sweep tees with no problems.

A long hose can be a bear to wrestle around the house. More and more luxury builders around here are not putting these systems in because they feel that the homeowners will just have the cleaners use a portable vacuum.

pretty much sold on an MD unit to replace a 20 year old Vacuflo FC520 for a 2000 sq ft house with lots of (multiple) dog pet hair, rather than replacing all the leaking hoses, accessories, and broken outlet on the cannister itself. Reluctant to put time and money into that old unit. But am confused about the range of MD units. I don''t care about the noise level, but the bottom access seems nice/convenient for the air masters. Considering your comments about keeping the motor cool and triple filtering, which of the four series do you recommend? Is the top access Flo-master still better than the bottom access? Stay with the basic "Modern Day", the "Silent Master", "Air Master", or the "Flo Master" in your superb video? Thank you!
@Centvac5 ай бұрын
If you can mount the unit lower on the wall to make top access convenient, I would go with Flo-Master. If it needs to stay higher up, the Air Master would be the ticket. The F650T is our go-to replacement unit for a home like yours. Please let us know if you have trouble finding one locally, we would be glad to assist.
