From what I researched, you are right Owen about when Electrolux got into the Central vacuum business, there was a greenish Model 1561 that was made by Easy Flo up here in Canada, then around 1987 was model 1569 along with the 1580 that were both made in-house by Electrolux The 1580 is exactly the same color as the current Aerus Centralux but it had a smaller body style and the intake was on the same side of the exhaust until the 1590 came along I do agree with you on the difference between the hoses, I have both the old pistol grip kit and a white Aerus Superlux kit, it is definitely heavier to move around and it being available in only 35 feet long is kinda nuts lol What I did was take apart the plug- in end and cut it down and carefully re-built it to be a 30 foot hose like the old style, now its much easier to use Overall, amazing video, keep those Electrolux and Aerus videos coming!!

Was waiting for a video on these units! It really does baffle me that they still sell these with everything out there that’s so much better. I do think the tool set is top notch though! I actually quite like the heavy wire reinforced hose once you put a sock on it. But it definitely does take a lot of airflow away. Awesome video Owen!

Was the Power Nozzle designed to also vacuum up flooring? Or just carpet?

The Aerus/Electrolux certainly has brand recognition or some inspiring Zebra hunting salesmanship that stays with the home owner long after purchase ----- Our local distributor actually schedules appointments to empty clients central vacuum canisters and might be the poster child for 'sell yourself first' salesmanship. I provided a client with a quote for the bagged system that I typically supply (not Aerus) and then a complete Aerus electrolux system that cost $600.00 more then my system. ----- They went with my Lux quote. I am not a 'filter guy' but of the filter designs, I find that the foam filter is the best one around because you can return it to like new condition if you squeeze it clean in the sink.

Prior to the 1590, it was a private labeled, Canadian-made Easy-flo.

I agree, I dust everything in my house with my vacuum.

Interesting to think that these units are better in some ways than the Swedish E-Lux units produced. The name of Beam was sold to a Canadian central vacuum company and assets of Eureka were sold to Bissell, more specifically the Sanitare name. I personally don't like crush resistant hoses as they will become brittle and fall apart and they kink way too easily. The hoses on my Rainbow easily last 35 years or more.

I've seen hoses fail on Rainbows before, even one of mine needs a replacement. And I've even seen these Aerus hoses fail too, heck even other wire reinforced hoses as well. I get that everybody has a different taste of what they prefer and I think that's alright. But I personally wouldn't use a wire reinforced hose as they're much more heavier, expensive, and they cut back on the airflow. Not to mention that once they're crushed, you have to get a replacement. Also, Eureka was sold to Midea and not Bissell.

@@panasonicvac4036 I said Sanitaire was sold to Bissell, up until a few years ago Sanitaire was Eureka's commercial line. You say the wire reinforced hoses were heavy, right? I have two 14 ft Rainbow hoses for my E2 Black. One is electrified the other is straight airflow. Once upon a time they did weigh quite a bit but these are pretty light now and still feel of better quality than any crush resistant hoses.

Sure on Rainbows they're not too bad weight wise. But on central vacs, about double the weight. I remember that was one of my complaints where I used to clean some houses with these electric Aerus hoses before. Luckily Hayden offered a crush proof hose if people didn't liked the wire reinforced ones.

@@panasonicvac4036 I don't really take into consideration the larger diameter, thus more material per linear unit, either metres or feet, I guess you can pick your preference. In my area of Canada, we use both, partly because of our proximity to Americans in Southwestern Ontario where Ohio, New York and Michigan are all within 3-5 hours driving time and our parents who learned the US/Imperial system.
