Good to see you guys back on the road again, was wondering where you were. The hide looks interesting, sime good small woodland birds, and the Buzzard encounter must have been fantastic. I may have a go as well, but that road dont look good for my little Skoda , Ive just booked a full day again at the leeds wildlife photography hides, £65 for the day, which i find reasonable. What lenses did you guys use for your day?
@twitcherspictures10 күн бұрын
@@Huddsbirder hi Grant, thanks for your kind comments. Firstly the road is not too bad if you take it steady. Buzzard really gave us the run around as it knew we were there. The Leeds photography hide is also good value. We aim to go back there again at some point. I had a fixed 400mm lens and Natalie had a 100-400mm lens.

Another interesting video to watch and you certainly captured a wide variety of birds. I wanted to ask you both if you feel emotionally different about photos of birds you take using an hide and birds you photograph while not being hidden and having to use not only your photography skills but also knowledge of birds as to where they maybe and where they may show up. I often think with hides your given an enormous amount of help, perches set up, maybe feeders to entice the birds to area and of course the hide itself means your hidden away. This gives you or anybody the opportunity to capture some great images but I just wonder if it’s as satisfying as doing it the hard way and the only cover you have is your camouflage clothing and the only help you have is your knowledge of birds. I would be genuinely interested in your opinion, you may think a photo of a bird is a photo of a bird and how you came to capture it is less important than the actual quality of the photo and I guess the photos you took in this video are only known to us that you took them from a hide is because you showed us, the photos don’t tell us that. Bit of a long comment but I hope you understand what I’m trying to ask.
@twitcherspictures13 күн бұрын
Hi Darren we fully understand what you are saying and yes we think it’s always more satisfying to capture pictures where field craft has taken place. However pictures from a hide also get you a lot closer to birds than otherwise possible. Our videos have a variety of ways we capture pictures of wildlife. From paid hides, nature reserve hides, to our own hides and finally walking and taking pictures. All require different skills and techniques. We love doing all of them. Hope that answers your question Darren and thanks for your interest in our channel.

Bempton cliffs is a wonderful place, not just the birds it’s also a great view looking south. You both captured some nice photos, there are probably more different species of birds on the land as there are on the cliffs as your video shows. I was there Thursday evening but didn’t see any Puffins and didn’t see the barn owl either, I did see some puffins at Flamborough earlier in the day so that was good to see. Regarding you camera gear, I’m the same, constantly trying out different settings, forgetting the good settings I’ve previously used, it makes me wonder how these you KZbinrs who do camera reviews can give an accurate opinion of a camera they’ve only been using for a couple of days. Looking forward to your next video.
