A visit to Alkborough Flats. Did we get the Bearded Tits ?

We took a trip to Alkborough Flats in Lincolnshire. We hoped to get the Bearded Tits amongst other birds. Natalie trying out her skills on Swifts and Swallows. See how we got on.

The best time there is from around late September and on through the winter. They change their diet from insects to seeds as the weather cools. At this time, you will see them on the paths gathering grit to aid digestion. The area between the gate and the first hide is a prime area. Early mornings when it's calm is best , so check the wind speeds in that area. Don't forget to call into Far Ings, which is next to the Humber Bridge. Bittern and Marsh Harriers are regularly seen there, sometimes very close! Good luck!
