I wish these were in order! I’ve been so intrigued…I watched ATWT from 1 st grade with my mother and grandmothers and almost every day until I returned to teaching when my youngest was in kindergarten! I love seeing the characters I literally grew up with up with. I miss the CBS soaps.

I truly believe that the show started to decline when the Spaulding family became more the focus instead of the Bauers.

Vanessa is another character that underwent A BIG Change in character over a few years!

Guiding Light had the cheapest looking sets compared with the Young and the Restless. Glad they came up to speed in later years. But GL had amazing acting talent.

Nola was the best character on the show. Lisa Brown was an amazing actress that even Bette Davis wrote to her and praised her acting skills that’s high praise from the greatest dramatic actress in Hollywood history.

UK Courtroom Scenes on Soaps are just as surreal. The Lawyers have to wear Wigs, A Smock and a Gown as does the Judge. The Witness has to stand up throughout questioning and when they are convicted they are hauled downstairs like going into a Dungeon. Phooebe Dynevor's Mother Sally who plays Sally Metcalfe on Coronation Street went downstairs and cried over and over she didn't want to go to Prison.

Are the TV shows from 1980s on ABC networks Gus was a strong Grandpa 45 years Deidre Hall on Days of our lives still kicking and going a strong doctor play the part of Marlena Evans still going on the show at least there's no nudity in the show and it was on for 5 years I remember Sundays 6:00 at night to 7:00 at night thank you very much for all the actors sorry to hear about Shannen Doherty's death she was an awesome actor on Little House in the prairie God bless her fans and her family said she'll meet her and have him one day God bless all the fans out there in 1974 baby Wisconsin remembers😊

I loved As The World Turns.And The Guiding Light.

This aired during the several months that Joyce was presumed to have been killed in an accident where the car she was driving (Dr. Bob's) went off a bridge and into a river (although her body wasn't recovered) and Don & Mary were trying to move on. Per the SOD synopsis back then Chris & Don were discussing Don's getting a divorce in absentia from Joyce on the grounds of desertion (since it would take 7 years to get someone declared legally dead). Obviously later in the Oakdale universe the Hughes had the clout of the Kennedys since they at the end of 1979 (less than 6 months after Joyce's accident) got a court order declaring her legally dead (so that Don and Mary could marry). Of course right after that, Joyce shows up very much alive (at least Don & Mary didn't marry yet or that would have created a huge pickle since Joyce was still legally married to Don - or would be once the court order was rescinded).

I loved watching As The World Turns.
