Purchased the Blue Ghost last August, £510 / 920 CAD including shipping and Import duties to the UK. Very impressed with it and one of fifty in the colourway. Would I buy another? Yes but I'll wait to see what they have in the pipeline. Excellently delivered review with an easy to follow and understand format.

@@marduj2768 yeah I know what you mean. Bulova’s Precisionist quartz movements have those really big batteries in them, which seems smart. Those are relatively expensive though, I’m guessing in this case it’s a matter of saving money. If it hits the 2 year mark as advertised, that’s not too bad, though. Thanks for the question!

Honestly I like the black face better than charcoal of Hamilton. I like a crisp watch face, but even though money for value is better with Militado, I would also keep Hamilton if I only had one. Good news is, if you get this one it can tide you over until you can get the hamilton. Like a watch while you wait 😂. It will keep your wrist warm!

Thanks for the review! I very much like the colors and the Blancpain-inspired design. It looks like this is one of the few colorways still currently available on the Heron site. It would be interesting to see a comparison between this watch and another hardened-steel dressy diver, the slightly higher priced Traska Freediver.

Wearing a scratchproof watch for a week really sells it to you. I’d love to get ahold of a hardened Traska or Sinn or compare the experience. I hope I can get a review unit! @@MrVitamincpp when I started the review that was definitely something I considered. Not because there’s anything wrong with it, but because I’ve seen and owned similar Blancpain inspired watches. That said, after some time with it, it grew on me. It has a little visual distinction with that flat bracelet, the colour, the quirky 12 marker etc, but I have to say that the scratch resistance added to the excitement for me, also. I found myself feeling like the watch was invincible. Totally unique experience for me. I think Sinn fans have experienced this also, but it was a first for me.

@@SilverStackers while I didn’t test it with the screwdriver, the website lists the whole watch as hardened steel, and the case had no micro scratching despite being a review unit that had been passed around. Seems just as tough as the bracelet. Thanks for watching!

@@paulhaynes3688 not saying no one has had issues, but they’ve sold probably literally millions of these. Most people don’t go online and say “the watch works great!” They do go online if they have a problem, though. So this can skew our perception. There is nothing specific about the movement that should cause concern, generally thinking. It’s a thoughtfully modified base workhorse movement.

Got mine at the end of 2022, just before Hamilton hiked up the prices, absolutely love it and have only 2 issues: 1. The insufficient AR coating of the crystal and 2. Learning from 'Just One More Watch' Jody after he opened one, that the movement has a plastic holder inside the case - something unbecoming to this type of watch.

Let me start with a think you for the review. You got a subscriber in me with that level of detail and passion, man :) Having said that, the Strella I saw on their website has the ST19, which seems to be historically more accurate representation of the original movement. Alas, it costs a bit over €400, but it is a Chinese was through and through with a Cyrillic dial and a German(?) owned brand. As far as I can tell, all the components are made in China, too. Personally, I’d probably get either a used one from Ebay or a Baltany. Baltany and Baltic are probably the two “budget” brands that make the most amazing vintage inspired watches at this point.
