I can confirm is working using the TB4 ports on eGPU. You will need a good cable labeled TB5 !!!

Didnt use your Guide, since its not my first time doing a clean windows install. However have never done it on a laptop, but only on my desktop PC before. Ended up with a boot loop after the initial windows installation (before language setup onwards). Laptop would constantly reboot and not let me set up windows any further. Only ended up solving this by flashing a USB with the Lenovo Recovery Media tool.

Thanks for the comment. There are plenty of good video reviews online thankfully & notebookcheck websites for written format. Unless we've had something compelling to say, we felt it was a better use of resources to leave it to others to do these.

I bought an used Elitebook 830 G5 for 200 USD with the i7 8th gen, 8GB/512GB with touchscreen. My only regret is updating the bios, Newer bios does not support undervolting and you cant rollback

T490 has better panel options imo. Mainly the bezel on t480 is huge by comparison.

@3:45 Lenovo usually whitelist expansions so the use cannot upgrade modules other than SSD or RAM to keep their other models selling. I remember I tried to replace a better WLAN card on a T430 some years ago and BIOS didn't allow that.

T490 has more lifecycle left imo than T490s (former has 1x ram slot which is upgradable, the s model is soldered on for ram).
