Perhaps the problem is that the other hose inlet is "leaking", this often interferes with the reading of these instruments. It could be, since the other side is not connected to anything.

The problem with the Testo vacuum gauge is that if it is one of those that have Bluetooth, this model of vacuum gauge is prone to decalibration and must be calibrated with a Testo pressure gauge that has the Pirani probe.

It can do measure current dc and voltage dc? Same time, show watts? Dc current+dc voltage?
@Moonstalker9 ай бұрын
The Testo is the only one who is AC and DC for the ammeter. You can see that on the dial icons. The micro ammeter is only DC on both. The Testo is the only one with HVAC in mind with watts however you can get the 770-2 for cheaper, and still is better than the Fluke, and more corresponding to most HVAC users, rare are the people who gonna get 1000V installations. I thought the 902FC was AC DC too for the clamp because it's very expensive but no it's only AC. As far as its overall use the fluke is well standardized, however the testo offers a lot more for the price, and the 770-3 can be used on solar installs because of the 1kv and watt meter.

I have used fieldpiece,Yellowjacket,and testo. After calibrating the testo with my particular vacuum pump it is the most accurate out of the 3. It works without glitches also!!!
@larryreyes50554 жыл бұрын
Different spots different outcome brotha ... besides with the yellow your going of an apion, with the testo your using a hose not a vacuum hose to be exact ... try again with the same spot of the apion

My man ! Switch testo with fieldpiece and check the readings. Check your hoses, core tool etc. If you want to do real "test" and complain, switch them and then show us readings. BTW get it calibrated and certified for $35.

Honestly, I bought this fluke 902fc based off of “everyone’s” recommendation. I’ve had it for over a month and I don’t love it. It’s a good meter, but I believe it is overpriced and under featured. I’ll stick with my fieldpiece sc440

Hello to everybody, I understand the gentleman is a bit frustrated with what the reading is, I recently purchased two vacuum gauges, 1) yellow jacket 69086 and a testo 552. From the first day yellow jacket gave me a problem, faulty sensor, with testo no issues so far. As I am writing this I m pulling a vacuum on a cylinder for experimenting purposes Results Yellow jacket with second sensor 270microns the past 15 min Testo 335 microns and keeps going down . Personal opinion I think the testo in this case is more accurate.

Still whose best to you HVAC contractors....
@HTCGT19636 жыл бұрын
I found that you must calibrate it at around 300microns with a known good micron gauge, then all is well. But when your battery's die, most of the time it looses calibration and you re-calibrate it again. Totally crazy. But when it works it works well. Good luck.
@lennartsandberg18085 жыл бұрын
Thats right, maybe the only correct way is to use a laboratory calibrated vacuum meter as a reference when performing field calibration but some may think it is overkill. I send the reference meter once a year to the laboratory and keep it in a safe place to be able to do the field calibration when needed.
@Stickmantree6 жыл бұрын
The man who suggested switching the two was right. I have the same apion valve and field piece gauge. When pulling a vacuum I must close the valve and shut down pump in order to know the true micron value. It always rises then settles at its true reading. With that said maybe the testo and it's absolute pressure sensor was actually right on the money.. because I believe your field piece and it's location were being affected by other variables i.e. vacuum pump itself. Dah dah dah

I just did commissions on the same unit only difference is the BOARD. I had reverse polarity on my RTU so only the Burner compartment was energized. Switched the legs and now Both boards are energized. The RTU I worked on today was manufactured 08/17/2017. ( So it is newer and different Control Board ) But I had some issues. I had to take 24 volts of the 2nd stage cooling since they wanted to convert to a 5 TON application. So many Sensors!

4.6 Field calibration - Field calibration should be carried out at <15 hPa, field calibration is not possible at ambient pressure. - The connected vacuum pump should ideally be able to create a minimum trace pressure of <0.1hPa. - Field calibration tunes the testo 552 to your vacuum pump. 1 - Connect the vacuum pump to a port of the testo 552. - Close the second port with the sealing cap. - Start the vacuum pump. 2 - Wait until minimum pressure is reached. - Press and at the same time for at least 3 seconds. The testo 552 is zeroed and field calibration is completed

Jason I have been doing this for a long time too and have not verified parts in the past. My boss would have blamed it on me for not verifying the parts when I showed up because I should have known better and the company would eat the labor cost. That being said at least you didn't run the system like I did once and I was experienced enough to know better at the time. Your are correct when saying we get complacent at times, we are only human and not machines.
