I don’t think the hero on the armor is the hero of time, to me it just looks like a reference to Wind Waker. The shield in the mural is the one Wind Waker link has used, and not the hero of time. This would connect it to the bird in the mural, as if it is the helmaroc king, it would be one of the major bosses in WW they are referencing. Good theory, but I feel that if they wanted to make it depicting the hero of time, they would have made the shield into one piece the hero of time has used. You could say that the mural could be any Link prior to TP.

So how much time passes between Ganondorf gets the Trident and the Imprisoning War? I dont see how this fits if we assume there is a Hero of Time (Only not the hero) in the Hylian Knights and we are assuming him and Ganondorf are the same as in OoT only alternate timeline versions that would mean Ganondorf would have to have faced a Link who beat him and still manage to exist where another link had to replace the old one...? I guess what i'm saying unless Gerudo's age slow or something where was the Hero of the Four Swords during the imprisoning war? wouldn't Ganondorf have been the same age in either reality, that means in that branch a Link should have still been walking around if a Human Ganondorf used the Trident to become a Demon. Sorry for the wall of Text and I know this is like 2 years old but it's the best Timeline I've seen and this is really my only sticking point.

I have a theory that the spirit of good is reinterpretation of either the three light spirits or the golden goddesses, while the Buddha like statue might be a reinterpretation of Hylia and that the ancient Sheikah might have worshipped a form of Buddhism and the Sheikah eye we are so familiar with represents enlightenment.

Simple solution to the Totk inconsistancies: make the Switch games direct sequels to Skyward Sword and explain it by giving some timetravel mumbo jumbo. Sure, it's not perfect, but at the very least that would position these games as actual soft reboots that fit neatly into the overall timeline. And all the references to previous games? We can just treat them as such: references, Easter Eggs with nothing more than just cool nods to previous entries in the series without actually being important to this new timeline, since most of those references are surface level and based on esthetics and items, nothing more

@@jerrywil7012 that would be even worse, given Skyward Sword is a time loop and causes no timeline splits.

@ZeldaLore Sure, but at this point we can easily come up with an explanation for that. I mean, if Nintendo can retcon its own lore time and time again, why not us fans? Plus, it would just be simpler to just do that since we wouldn't have to go through a huge headache of trying to explain/fix every inconsistancy brought by Totk. Just have them be a brand new timeline with events that parallel the other timelines. Makes it less headscratching and confusing than putting them at the end of one of the existing timelines and just say "it happened so far into the future that the cycle starts again" or getting a second founding of Hyrule... Idk, food for thought I suppose. I'm just trying to find a way to seperate the Switch games from the rest while also making sense of the timeline.

They remind me of the "Borrowers" (1997) Film Also the film was based off of the book by Mary Norton (published in 1952). Though I am not sure what Japanses equivalent would be... maybe more Peter Pan (1953) inspiration coming into play with the tinkerbell scenes. It was said that link's green outfit and design along with his fairy companion (from ocarina of time) was inspired by and from the Disney animated Peter Pan movie (so there yah go~)

24:29 No. One male gerudo that was born 100 years ago, still being alive 100 years later, doesn't prevent the next male gerudo from being born. No Gerudo reciting lore about how Gerudo society works ever said that that's the case. The gerudo birthing a male once every 100 years is a natural attribute that they have no control over. Crowning every male gerudo as their king is a matter of culture that can be changed; a tradition that they chose to shirk after one of their leaders became a vessel for the curse of Demise. So if a male gerudo is still born every 100 years, but not made their king, what becomes of these boys each time they're born? Killed? Maybe. But many mothers may choose instead to escape Gerudo city with their son & raise him in secret. Some male gerudo might learn to dress in female clothing in order to visit the home of their fellow Gerudo. A male Gerudo in this situation might spend most of his time at the nearby desert oasis on top of one of the buildings there, willing to sell spare clothing to male Hylians that also want to enter Gerudo city. 🤔

13:23 Can't the hatred of Demise exist in multiple people/creatures at the same time? Spirit Tracks has Malladus, Byrne, & Chancellor Cole. Ocarina of Time has Ganondorf, Koume, & Kotake. Twilight Princess has Zant & Ganondorf. Four Swords Adventures has Ganon & Vaati. etcetera...

I've seen another alternate timeline that suggests the "downfall" games take place in an alternate timeline starting 100 years before the events of Skyward sword when Demise was defeated before Link & Zelda were born & the Goddess blade hadn't been drawn yet. This timeline leads straight to Minish Cap, where the "Picori" sword, which comes from the sky & becomes the 4 sword by the end of the game, is the Goddess blade. What do you think of that theory?

@@tomrees82 Skyward Sword is a time loop, it doesn't cause any timeline splits. Unless if you count the bad endings where the imprisoned reaches the sealed temple, but that results in the end of the world.

@ZeldaLore I'm talking about the point where Ghirahim takes Zelda through the gate of time to summon Demise in the past where he hadn't been defeated yet. 1,000 years into the past, not 100. So you have that time 1,000 years in the past where Ghirahim summons Demise, then Demise creates a "room" to wait for Link to be ready to battle, then he gets defeated. So then there's the timeline where the Imprisoned got defeated by a Sky Island falling on top of him; & the other timeline where Demise got summoned & then defeated shortly after.
@ZeldaLore

@@tomrees82 in the past, after Demise is defeated and his lingering thoughts sealed in the master sword, Link places the master sword on the pedestal, and then, after that, Zelda gives Impa her bracelet. The bracelet is seen on Impa's arm from the moment we first meet the old woman in the game. It's a time loop. The master sword is also in the same timeline as the one that required the isle of the goddess to crash down to kill the imprisoned. A time loop.

not only is the tutorial NOT hidden at all - you start off aimed right at it, with an illuminated ghost looking into the hole - the game tells you THREE times to jump down there for the tutorial. there's a note on the floor, a ghost that tells you to go there, and a pop-up developer message that pauses your game and explicitly says that's where the tutorial is. you had that message up for a long time, but were talking and ignoring it. idk what games you're playing that have attacks mapped to the X button, the only game i can think of with controls like that is Zelda. almost everything i've played has the same controls as Elden Ring - God of War, Assassin's Creed, Elder Scrolls, every souls game, etc...R trigger/bumper to attack is the standard across pretty much all titles...

Only issue is the fact that in lttp, ganondorf became ganon from the triforce, whereas fsa he becomes it via the trident, meaning that they can't be the same, and we never see him unsealed so it's more logical to assume that ganon in alttp is a different person

Not to mention the boss in the Twilight realm was a dragon. It would make sense they used magic to evolve into the thing theey worship, since the ancient hero looks zonai woth red hair, the heroes bloodline could have mated with a zonai making the hero half hylian and with the heroes blood. And since SS impa had redhair, the white hair could have come from them mating with hylians(skyloftians) hence the hair color change. The ancient sheikah could have red hair and been closely related to the gerudos who became cursed after demise. Was defeated

With the names (of the zora) might also be that system where you have to talk to them first before you learn their names. Like in botw and TotK it was either empty space, or had a title like “researcher” (aside from the yiga:p ) when talking to them for the first time, after that, their names show up at the top of the textbox. Great vid 💯💯

Zelda games have never really needed to much explanation on why things change from game to game, because Zelda games aren't really done in linear order of each other, the series is very much an anthology. Totk and Majora are the only examples of a direct sequels in the entire series. Majora doesn't need to explain the changes because it takes place in an entirely different world with different characters, but totk is the exact same world with the exact same characters and then some new ones. Nintendo has never had two games share so much in common before, and they failed to account for that when writing the story, which is why we end up with new characters that show up with no explanation, or why people suddenly forgot about the champions, or why shiekah tech is now just gone.

The story of totk, when looked at on paper, is decent, it really is not the worst story Zelda has ever told, it's actually very in line what you'd expect from the series. But the way it's delivered through disjointed cutscenes that most people found out of order, is a horrible way to tell a story. It worked in botw because even when you view the memories in order, most of them don't flow together in a linear fashion.

There are a few issues with placing the Oracles in between ALTTP and Link’s Awakening. First, Zelda does not remember Link and they seemingly meet for the first time. Perhaps Link’s wish to bring everything back to normal at the end of ALTTP erases their memory? IDK. But another thing is, Link seemingly grows up over the course of the Oracle games because (and this is another reason why Ages has to be before Seasons) the Gorons refer to Link as a boy in Ages, but you also help a family raise a baby to adulthood over the course of the two games, so by the end of Seasons, Link’s an adult. But, is Link an adult in Link’s Awakening, or are there references to him being a child? And Link’s Awakening *has* to be a sequel to ALTTP. I think this issue among others might be why they swapped the order of the two in the more recent timelines.
