Also, where is this other Star touch elf that had been comforting Aaravos in the trailer??

Callum and friends didn't deserve to win. Callum just stands there and lays out his full plan to Aaravos, allowing him time to counter the plan. I wonder if their budget to do the last episode got cut. I was expecting this big epic battle but instead it was so full of dialogue with little fighting. Very disappointing.

Ezra really was the only good character this season, callum and rayna had no brains at all and everyone was so chill for no reason... Katolis falling was basically 9/11 of the world and they just don't care and they also didn't give callum any of the emotions that he should have like ezra.

Agreed about Aarovos, he should have been terrorizing the east all season to build up to the final battle, showing how much of a bad ass he is instead of nerfing himself into an old man walking around the forest looking for feathers for 5 episodes. On the positive side of the season, at least they didn't introduce any new pets.

Hate how much of a snowflake community we have become. NOT everything that exists in media is a fetish. Not every brunette in an anime exist because the mangaka has a brunette fetish. Crazy things like.....Well, MiA S2 don't exist for the sake of fetish. Shock value if you don't care about the story? Debatable. Fetish? I mean, if it strokes your ego😂 Not "everything" in this anime is a fetish, ffs. Let shocking anime be shocking anime again

Aaravos only sees humans as a means to achieve his goals. He doesn't care if they are corrupting him and on top of that he uses the excuse that it is in the name of his daughter. Brother, die already before you tarnish her name any further!

My friends think Iam bonkers, I actually like Bondrewds storyline and character buildup but if you include telling your friends about the prushka cartridge they're done with you 😂 and the story as a whole. I had a friend who reccomended m.i.a. to me and she told me that too and it threw me off immidiately 😂 Great anime, truely weird writer. Beautiful animation, but truely fucked up.

OK, you have a fair point about Rayla's lack of understanding for Ezran's feelings, but calling her a "spoiled brat" and such is taking things a bit too far in my humble opinion. I mean, she saw her birth parents for the last time when she was a child, formed a very close bond with her adoptive parents (her choice to start training as an assassin was largely made out of admiration for Runaan), a bond that only deepened when she thought her birth parents were traitors. Then, she falls out with one of her adoptive dads, is forced to abandon him and spends two years thinking he's dead while being banished from seeing the over one. Now, after going through great hardships to bring him back, she can finally see and reconcile with Runaan again, only for someone she considered a close friend to imprison him again almost immediately. Now, let me be very clear. Failing to anticipate and then refusing to acknowledge Ezran's feelings towards Runaan is insensitive. Pretending these feelings are unjustified and asking him to simply get over it is insensitive. However, Rayla's anger at Ezran's behaiviour is likewise understandable, even if it is less justified. The problem here isn't the nature of the conflict, it's how the writers decided to handle it. What should have happened is something along the lines of: "Ezran, I know you're angry. I know this man has caused you pain. He's not innocent. But he's also my father. I spent two years thinkin' he was dead and he suffered a lot during that time. I'm not askin' you to forgive him, not now. But please, don't let the pain that you feel control you." And of course, Callum should have been a lot more conflicted about this situation, since he would understand and probably even share Ezran's pain about Harrow's death, but also be torn due to his feelings for Rayla, perhaps forcing him into an unwanted position as a mediator. You could even still justify his betrayal by having Ezran go too far and do something completely crazy like, say, having Runaan tortured. But alas, what we got is what we got. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

I only watched the first two episodes of season 7 and then decided to stop. I just couldn't bring up the motivation to continue and had already pushed myself to start this season in the first place. I've been watching this show since it first aired and genuinely enjoyed the first three seasons. But those three seasons only covered one year while the show spent the other six years of its runtime holding me in a state of anxious waiting or increasingly resigned disappointment. This is beyond a sunk-cost fallacy. It's just not worth it anymore and I hope the next arc doesn't get greenlit because I have no faith that anything good will come from it, especially when there are so many other better shows out there that deserve to be continued instead.

A lot of people would fight about how it's the author making a point about the world being "cruel", "crude" and stuff but I can't let go the fact that the two people around me who <LOVED> the show and super recommended it to me and just denied my concerns from the 1st season (and why I didn't bother with s2) were 1. a shotacon who had deliberately drawn my OC as a kid inappropriately and 2. a "friend" who actually came out to us as a pdf 🤢🤢🤢I know it's anecdotal as shiii but it's conforting to know for ONCE I'm not alone nor crazy in noticing these things, like the concept is great but did we need the uh... The... Yeah. Did we ? I really don't think so. I mean, there are ways to imply or show stuff, right ? And I'm an SA survivor. I really DIDN'T need any of it for SURE, and NEVER will...🥲

It’s wild that the creators are stretching this plot out to get more seasons. This is a vast and complex world-there are many stories that could be told in it and possible conflicts that could arise. Fans would probably love to see a Janai / Amaya buddy cop Yuri. You could keep content coming for a long time just by telling new and creative character based stories that aren’t tied to Aaravos.

Honestly I agree with I think all of the points made in this video, including with the feeling that the show doesn't deserve more seasons, unfortunately. If the writers can't come up with a satisfying conclusion after seven seasons, what are they doing? I think one of the things that bothered me the most is the Nova blade and the abandonment of the plans the characters made in the finale. Honestly it's been a while since I've watched the previous seasons, so I'm not sure if the Nova blade had been mentioned before, but it felt like it just appeared out of nowhere just for the convenience of the characters and to get Ezran to the finale battle. Also Zym apparently can travel really fast now, because 'how do we get him there'. And I mean him learning new things and growing as a dragon, sure, fine, but it would need buildup. Him working for it, struggling, his lack of experience posing as an obstacle during perilous events, for him to eventually learn and grow and have this reward for his struggle would have been fine. But, there's none of that. Also him learning to talk out of nowhere AT THE END OF THE FINALE SEASON has pretty much the same problem. I mean, it could have been predicted that he could talk, since apparently all the arch dragons can do that, however... To put it only at the end for no other reason than to make a joke... It's just really unsatisfying. If they wanted to make him talk, they should have done it directly after the time skip, showing how much time had passed, or not do it at all. Another annoyance for me was definitely how Aaravos was portrayed. During the scene where Ezran captured him I honestly thought throughout it's whole runtime that he was just playing Ezran, talking to him, trying to manipulate him, only for him to eventually reveal that he actually could have gotten rid of the chains all along and that Ezran was foolish to think it would stop him. Of course that probably would have created more problems with taking Ezran's action and stripping them of meaning but that could have been easily accounted for later in the finale (in which Ezran in the show is still stripped of agency as well as any other character anyway so...) while at the same time not stripping Aaravos of the build up to being a powerful being. It would also show how Ezran fails. Which he should, or there's no growth for the character. And I mean he fails in the show still... Also like, didn't he already know at that time that if Aaravos was killed, he would just appear again after a while? Wasn't that revealed a while ago already? If so, why does he think the Nova blade is an answer to anything? One thing i do think could have been very interesting and compelling if executed well is the falling out of Ezran and Callum.... but not in the way they did it. It needed more work and buildup and I feel like it should have started earlier with some hints here and there leading up to it. Also Callum should have had more thoughts on it after leaving Ezran. In my opinion this season, as well as the second part of the show in its entirety is exactly as it's stated in the video's title... A disappointment. I probably could write down some more points but I'm afraid I would only be repeating the video itself.

the writers add stuff in thinking "this looks cool" and moved on to the next cool liking thing to stuff into their limited runtime without every thinking through the narrative or world building ramifications. Leaving us with disjointed and poorly written story that reeks of wasted great potential. the show pushes the idea that Rayla is always right, even when she's wrong she's right and should face no consequences. Callum's personality and very existence is just being a doormat for Rayla to step all over. Aaron has been on reddit arguing with the fans over he many bad writing decisions in the show.

its definitely got its weird stuff in there but i like it all the same and wouldn't be returning to it if it didn't have redeeming qualities. From its graphic story and world to the pristine beauty of its environment. The brutality and realism of children adventuring on their own to the mentality of people consumed by their desires, its a story I'll probably continue to watch no matter how weird it gets(I'll just ignore those parts).

I didn't watch season 7. I think 3 great seasons kept me on for 3 bad ones, but no more. I think your critiques are really valid of the last four seasons. I honestly loved the first three seasons of the dragon prince, even a bit more that atla just because it was set in a world I was more interested in. Its a real shame it didn't have nearly as tight or impressive a story for these last four. I'm also still bitter they made Aaravos into a giant god like being. I loved the idea he was a powerful archmage whose cunning and knowledge made him dangerous, not that he was some divine being.

I just need to point this out. Callum abandoned his brother. He wasn't there for the kingdom when it was attacked by Rex. You would think that he would be more impacted by it, but after the crying in the first episode, he seems to not care much. Again, Ezren was left alone to be a king and do his duty. Callum made an oath to him not only as head mage, but also as his brother and he broke that quick. I really don't like the hug and instant forgiveness given to him. You have Callum chilling with Rayla's family while Ezren was made aware of Aaravos' return and was actively trying to fight him. All without his brother. Also Rayla not wanting him to be locked up is one thing. But Rayla also not really caring what jus t happened to the kingdom and how people were literally burned alive is...frustrating. She's expecting understanding and empathy. But doesn't have any for Ezren and rushes to betray them at a low point because she doesn't want to wait or convince people. I really like Ezren's focus and honestly wish we got more. We don't know what secret King Harrod had to pass down to his son. We still don't know why he can communicate with all creatures like he can(Seriously, most people in the kingdom are used to it, but it should've freaked Terry out that he could actually speak to the baby birds.). We still don't know the history of their mother's family. I would honestly like a series focused more around Ezren coming into his own more, becoming more capable, and ruling to made Zadia a more fair, prosperous, and virtuous place for everyone.
@Unknown-yq9qv4 күн бұрын
@@dragonhero14 yes!! Ezran should have definitely not forgiven him that quick, it made no sense, if you commit to his character arc of realising that sometimes violence is the only option and finally maturing a bit, stick to it! Don’t just undermine that and make him go back to ‘ah even though you betrayed me and left me alone, it’s fine I instantly forgive u’, completely unrealistic
@gabrieltheachillobator4 күн бұрын
One thing regarding the Rayla banning, I don't think it should have lasted, she literally spent the past 2 years or so helping save Zadia and somehow that isn't enough to get her unbanned??? Saving the dragon Prince and all that? One would think that has far greater value than some hit job gone wrong that ultimately in the case of the show was a quick "learning to let go of grudges and grieve" type message
@frost652_4 күн бұрын
There’s also a couple of stuff that aren’t really explained in my opinion -Why can Ezran talk to animals? -Why is Aaravos so nerfed? -Why can’t Rayla understand where Ezran is coming from? -Why is Terry still “innocent” when he murdered Ibis in S4? -And why tf is the King in the bird? This season was good but the ending was kinda bad
@sparxstreak025 күн бұрын
3:22 I just wish they hadn’t had Rayla be doing this at all. She had NO reason to snoop, Callum would let her in to any part of the castle if she simply asked & why WOULDN’T she tell him about her parents & Runaan trapped in the cursed coins? She has zero reason not to trust him, yet is giving Callum EVERY reason not to trust her! Rather than him simply saying he trusts her no matter what (which isn’t how actual trust works) he could simply say to Opeli that he’ll deal with this & later tells Rayla that while he wants things to get better between them, she needs to shape up & show him he can trust her, because all she’s showing him right now is the same person who left without a word 2 years ago & kept things from him - things he wants to help her with & doesn’t want them to go back to that. This way, he holds her accountable but is still willing to work with & give her a chance.
