I thank God for you ladies and gentlemen farmers...Farmers should be payed the BEST and always first helped by state and federal governments and sadly, they aren't....they should be the millionaires in this country and then entertainment....Anybody want to watch the superbowl without food?? Highly doubt it! Anybody going to pay their cable bill if they only have enough money for food? Highly doubt it!Thankful for meat and dairy farmers as well! Can't thank you enough!

You could just be honest and admit (since you are a 3rd generation farmer) that your water rights go back to 1900. You get water because the state government is still honoring those contracts. That has since changed since posting this video. The state is allotting a lot less water to rice farmers. Rice should not be grown in areas where water supply is a problem.

Our family pioneered rice farming in California, in the Willows/Artois area. Baker Bros land and stock co. My Grandfather and his Brothers worked with the Nolta Bros, out of Willows, to develop seeding with airplanes. Keep up the great work you are doing 👍

You can’t have organic rice grown next to conventional rice! The pesticides leaks into the ground water and air, affecting the soil. 😂

The government subsidized water is the key to all farming out west. Water districts and upkeep don't pay for itself, this year aside. You have to feed people so this arrangement is a good one. But the desert I live in is filled with hay fields that foreign companies own that they export to take our government subsidized water and send it overseas to feed their cows and make more money on the higher priced food product. That is a systemic breakdown that people should know about,

To be honest I have watched this to see how it was possible to grow rice on a dessert, since we experience droughts each year and there are no rivers nearby. It's a dairy farm. I hoped for some tricks to retain water or special seeds. Anyway, your video was still informative. People usually have no idea how farming works at all.

Non Californians loves trashing and bashing California, yet they sure love their fresh fruits and vegetables in their local grocery stores. I’m a long haul trucker and has been for 16 years now after serving 12 years in the Army. Ive traveled around the country including Canada delivering fruits and vegetables. When I heard comments about negative things in California, I would ask these individuals where do they buy their vegetables and fruits and if they enjoy their vegetables and fruits year round not just seasonal. They don’t have a clue. Thank you so much for educating these ignorant people. That is if they want to be educated. Ignorance is a very expensive price to pay.
