I read it a month ago. Pretty good book - a lot of details I was unaware of although I've been into them for 50 years.

This was recorded between sets at the old Dakota in St Paul. Emily invited me to be present since I had the good fortune to accompany her at a clinic earlier that day. Such a delight to hear this today! So brilliant yet down to earth!

It's my great pleasure to preserve these important conversations Leigh Kamman created with the masters on the internet. If you haven't heard it, I put another interview with Junior from 1988 on our channel some years ago. Check it out.

Jazz Central just sent me a link to this page...and I subscribed! Leigh's daughter, Kate, runs THE LEIGH KAMMAN LEGACY PROJECT, and introduced me to him back in 1971 !! Being a newbie to Minnesota, I had NO IDEA who he was...MUCH to my own detriment. THANK-YOU Kate, for providing us with such great insight to a great broadcaster & jazz aficionado ! His historical interviews truly withstand the test of time... pax- Gregg Kubera/Hyperopic

Jackie McLean 1960 pt 1 - this implies a pt 2 exists. Is that so?

Based on the typical "thank you" type endings on most of the interviews - but not on this one - it seemed that there must be a part 2. But it has not surfaced and now that I've finished digitizing all of the 7" reels n the archive like the one this was on I don't think part 2 exists. Thanks for listening.

More than great! One of Leigh´s best. He had concrete questions prepared and a half hour with Donald and Pepper. I enjoy the 5 minute telephone on the intermission things also. But they are kind of "Hello-goodby. No real information because there´s no time!
