So happy we’re finally getting this scene but it sucks that it’s in the 5 disc Monsterverse set.

If the producers wanted the movie to remain the same length as it currently is, they could have cut out 10 seconds of soldiers walking around. Now we need a director's cut with that scene put back in & more Godzilla footage put back in plus those very dark scenes brightened up a bit. The icing on the cake for all us Godzilla fans would be to finally get an official release of "Godzilla: 1985" on DVD/Blu-ray fully restored & with extras. Thanks for sharing the scene with us & your brief history with Akira Takarada.

It's just a cameo. Everybody cum-gutting like this is Taylor Swift's new single or somebody slanderized some sleazy KZbin commentator channel. No. If Takarada's were gifted an extended 1-minute role and THAT was were cut from the film, only then could you cheer for the resurface of such a profound scene. But Akira Takarada's cameo here...not that hair-raising than most of his others.

I watched the scene in full on toho kingdom and the fact that they cut a 24 second scene seemed stupid, it wouldn't have affected the runtime at all being a 24 second scene. Anyone who thinks they can't sit through an extra 24 seconds is insane, yes, the movie builds and builds cutting away from the fights saving it for last, but I think that's what makes 2014 an amazing movie. I'm so glad they've released this scene after 10 long years. RIP Takarada.

I feel insulted that it took that long, they should have released it when he died or like the 5th anniversary of the movie or just the blu-ray. That was low legendary, very low.

2014 has a big theme of family. The muto’s, the humans, G man’s dead ancestors. All fighting for their own similarities

In finally looking at that scene, it really baffles me why it was cut in the first place. With it lasting less than a minute, it really does not slow down any kind of pace. Yes, the majority of the movie goers, probably would not know who Mr. Takarada was, but it was suppose to be something special for him and a fun nod for us G-fans. Much like say in "Monsters, Inc" when the name of the restaurant is mentioned - "Harryhausen's", that was a tribute to Ray and an equally fun nod to us Ray fans (I was the only one in the theater laughing at that in-joke).

Just when i thought G14 couldn't get any better for me. We now have found the historical piece of lost media in the Godzilla franchise. I'm so happy about this, we will finally get to see Akira Takarada's last performance on the movie that redeemed Godzilla worldwide.

One thing I wished the MonsterVerse could’ve go through the MCU’s Stan Lee cameo, but I’m glad we got what we all been fight for and truly, so worth it.

It's sad that we can't celebrate this moment with Takarada now currently but I know in my heart, he's super joyful for his fans (us) to see this short and sweet clip, may he rest in piece.
