WOW - it's 2.39 am and somehow Kate Bush & Peter Gabriel duet brought me here. I thought he was only just random guy singing Pink Floyd track. But my oh my after googling out a bit about him. Damn where have I been for these 50 less years..

This was a Harper/Gilmour collaboration? Sounds like pure Harper to me - from a writing point of view. Anyone have the definitive answer.
@boldporcupine11 ай бұрын
The writing credit is for both (Gilmour--Harper) on Gilmour's self-titled solo album and on Harper's "Unknown Soldier".

This tour was the last time I saw him, Bolton Albert Halls (Town Hall), in a rather formal setting. There were attendant seat usher ladies, plush velvet velour seats, drinks ordered for the interval etc. etc. Half way through a mesmerising set, with a sound far greater than any one man rock n roll band, a lucky front row punter passed him a fat one, Roy duly accepted and announced there was a far more important planning committee going on next door. We all knew different as he shifted into a rendition of Berliners that shook the Peregrines off the Town Hall clock.

No one has mentioned the guitar sound which is sublime..I saw Roy touring this album in ‘83 and a few more times in the 80s and he was normally playing an Adamus - or rather one of two, he had one in normal tuning and one in open D - however this is not one of those..
