I'm in a Roy mood at the moment, that's because I don't have the words to express what I'm feeling...and he does! Hats off to you Roy.

Froze my bollocks off watching this - the dominion theatre did not put the heating on. at one stage roy prizes his frozen fingers off the fret board! WONDERFUL!! Had front row tickets - unforgetable
@briggsl13 жыл бұрын
I was at ths concert at the Dominon Theatre in 1990 only because someone i knew had a spare ticket. Never heard of Roy before but loved him ever since. It was freezing cold in there and I think the same day Maggie Thatcher resigned.
@Eleventhearlofmars Жыл бұрын
Maggie had switched the leccy off in there lol, I believe they had heaters but chose to leave them off for everyone to freeze their nuts off, including Roy, so hats off to everyone for coping with that.

A performance primal and pure, in spite, nay, because of its imperfections. After so many years I now understand 'Hats off to Roy Harper'. Bravo!

Roy: "I've prided myself all my life in being an immoral man, insofar as I can see the horrible spectre of the moral nightmare that we could be part of... that we are part of." Wendy's cashier: "So... do you want fries with that?"

Thanks for posting this. The live version with Gilmour is really great and this, though different, is just as much.

Different than the Gilmour/Harper version- haunting in its quality.

Les Floyds doivent beaucoup à Roy Harper .Syd Barrett c' est inspiré de son ami Roy , pour fonder le Floyd .
@charleywesting577410 ай бұрын
This was a Harper/Gilmour collaboration? Sounds like pure Harper to me - from a writing point of view. Anyone have the definitive answer.
@boldporcupine10 ай бұрын
The writing credit is for both (Gilmour--Harper) on Gilmour's self-titled solo album and on Harper's "Unknown Soldier".

You muppet you wouldn't know genius if it bit you on the arse. All those conceited bores Pink Floyd have produced is the endless gravy train of staduim rock shite. Boring crap for the bores that follow them. Roy is a poet, one who may be unknown largely but wouldn't have it any other way. It is called integrity. Just listen to that utter wanker Roger Waters, utter public school toss pot!
@charlieost5 жыл бұрын
Gilmour's version off his first album is good but this song would never have come about without Roy Harper's collaboration on that album. This is pure Harper. Gilmour never could and never has written a song as good as this, with or without the help of his wife. As for Roger Waters, he one of the few lyricists to compare to Harper. Different style but heartfelt content. To finish and use an Irish expression. Maynard is talking through his hole.
