Great vlog Simon. A few years ago the stations used have a irregular service as I remember My Chiltern Train stopped at Bearly but not Claverdon as I’m yet to visit Claverdon so I suppose 1tp2h is not too bad for Them small village stations with occasional WMR services. Although with them being in The West Midlands Region you would think it would be WMR running the Leamington Stratford Shuttle Service and not Chiltern.

You are quite incorrect about the destination of Brunels railway to london. Its destination was in fact Farringdon where the broad gauge terminated.

Line to farringdon was a joint line with the metropolitan railway. Mainly used for freight only. It definitely was not intended as a terminus for GWR passenger trains

Paddington to Farringdon was part of the Metropolitan Railway which did use Great Western Railway rolling stock and had running rights over the Metropolitan Railway but that line opened in 1863 but they soon fell out with each other. Brunel and Stephenson disagreement happened in 1830s and a temporary Paddington Terminus opened in 1838 with the current station opening in 1854.... If I am incorrect please inform me on why I am incorrect?

Not quite, These 2 Stations are served very well with a 2 hourly Chiltern Railways service but there a few West Midlands Railway Trains stop here 5 on a weekday and 9 on a weekend

I needed to know why they couldn’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for most of the mainline Trains so that they could extend the unused abandoned underground train stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock which will include the class 507, class 508, class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign all of them into an overhead wire line trains and also make most of them into Five carriages per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N113, Gardner 6LXC, Leyland 680, Volvo D10M, Gardner 6LXCT, Leyland 510, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Cummins M11 and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 6 Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 10 Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 507, class 508, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into 10 carriages per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers? When you cross the Black bridge over the river Blyth heading North look west just over the trees is the site of the Bedlington iron works. Here in the 1820,s the first extruded iron railway lines were made and patented. Railways began here.

The Chiltern service from Stratford to Leamington is usually a Class 168 for some reason, but the Birmingham Moor Street to Leamington service is usually a Class 165.

I visited these in November 2024 shortly before you Simon, and also used both Chiltern and WM Trains. Definitely didn't request any stops, the trains stop normally now. Enjoyed the video, looks like you had worse weather than me! 😀

This was back in Early December when I filmed this video and think there was rain the night before as when travelling I noticed some of the roads if I wanted to walk between the two were flooded. Did rain at Claverdon for a bit as well

Chiltern and WMR use different pronunciations, Chiltern correctly say “Beer-Lee”, whereas WMR use the incorrect “Bare-Lee”. According to the public timetables they were no longer request stops from the December 2023 timetable change, but the crew instructions still indicate for them to stop only on request. Some crew decide to stop anyway, others treat them as request stops. There has been a thread about this on railforums, but numerous requests to WMR have failed to get the crew and passenger status aligned.

Hi Simon, when i was showing my friend these stations. I asked WMR on Twitter beforehand and they said that they weren't request stops however on the approach to Bearley the guard made an announcement mentioning that you need to request it to him so we had to run down the whole train to him so i'm still not quite sure
