The sound of the class 318s and 320s in the tunnels is just legendary. I live in Glasgow and they're the reason I like trains

It's great to see you visiting my old commuting route from the 1980s and most of the stations have changed little since those days. But it's a tad worrying that you seem to be the only person travelling. These services could be ripe for cuts!

Awesome vid and great to see some of the more obscure stations in Greater Glasgow. Also don't mind me laughing at how you pronounce Airbles and Whifflet 😂

Across the road from Bridgeton is the old Bridgeton Cross station, from where you can follow an abandoned line towards High Street. Dalmarnock was refurbished in 2014 for the Commonwealth Games. I wrote about it on my blog at the time. Coatbridge Central is the closest station to Summerlee museum (which you must visit if you haven't), and is a great place for filming freight and charter trains.

Thanks for doing that. Stepps is my local station, the current station is not on the site of the original station which was by the Cumbernauld Road bridge. It was previoulsy called Cumbernauld Road, Steps Road or Stepps Road (at various times), and the name originates from stepping stones taking the original road across the Garnkirk Burn. It is thought that the LMS added the second "p" in the name. Incidentally, Stepps is twinned with the town of Les Marches in France, another beautiful pun if you look up the meaning of the French word "marches". Finally, your pronunciation of Gartcosh didn't seem correct, surprising when Fiona gets it right on the trains!

Thanks Reuben, I notice nearly the same issue on Tuesday when at Widdrington and I think it happens when the memory card is nearly full when you have less than a hour left on the Micro SD Card.

Oh the puns in this were terrible! If i hear anymore then further Stepps will be taken! Now out of the 13 you've done i've been to 1 which is Anderston. Did that one in 2022. The others i've yet to do. Still enjoyed the video and Jordan

I think that ScotRail should hold on to the Class 318 and Class 320 for little bit longer despite they too are due to be replaced by new trains in the next few years. And to keep the Class 334 Junipers.

I've used Partick before, about eight years ago when my sister was staying in Dumbarton Road. I haven't been to that many new stations recently, just been to Motherwell and changed trains at Bellshill to get back to Edinburgh.

Nowt worse than having the comments correct you on your pronunciation, so here’s Billy Connolly to sing it instead. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rH3Rd4GeZ6uUf6ssi=DM4RbnxcBi63eugz I live in Glasgow, and grew up in Cumbernauld, and have never heard anyone say Airbles out loud, so who knows. Rule of thumb is that posh places are mispronounced by outsiders, eg Milngavie. More working class areas are mispronounced by the locals, eg Brigton & Blan’ir. (Blantir/ Blantyre) Fair dues, good work on getting the sunny day this year.
