I've owned Jags for several years now. Currently I have an XFS which has proven to be reliable. My main pieces of advice are the same as buying any other used vehicle. Look for a car preferably with less owners great service and maintenance history and below than average mileage. Look for a vehicle where the advisories have been done with a decent brand of tyre. Most importantly, if you're not handy with the spanners, find a specialist mechanic. Jags can throw up random electrical niggles occasionally. Otherwise I've found them to be a great car.

Always love hearing about other XFRs ! My partner bought a 2012 XFR Supercharger (aka “the Diva”) to use for Track Days here in the U.S. Most folks don’t expect to see a full-size, 4-door Jaguar sedan on track, but there is nothing like hearing her “purr” when she gets to around 200 kph. 🐾 ☺️ 🏁 She’s part of the family, and we love her dearly. ❤☺️

@turnerscarsUK
@turnerscarsUK 3 ай бұрын
Sorry I've only just got round to reply, if you mean the cable to the handle, it's a faff. It has to be pushed in hard, then not moved too much as you put the door back on. I used a bit of gaffer tape to assist too. I hope you got sorted.

I bought my 2014 xfr 2.5 years ago with 55k on it for £28k, it's hands down the best car I've ever had. Why did I buy it? I've had subarus the last 10 years and needed to scratch the V8 itch. An f10 m5 was on the cards however it felt dull in comparison to the xfr. The xfr has so much character. M5 are great cars however what's cooler than daily driving a supercharged V8, it's the uk's own muscle car. Mine has been totally reliable with only regular maintenance needed. It runs out of approved warranty in 6 months so then I will be having it tuned to 600bhp with a remap & smaller pulley on the supercharger. I no longer daily it as I want to keep the miles down on it,it's currently sitting @ 64k. Absolutely 💯 you should experience an xfr. Fantastic cars 💪 💪 💪

Great video. For me personally i like the idea of one and would have the cash to fix niggles like electronic bits or wheel bearings, tyres, brakes etc. But would not have the cash to buy a new supercharger unit or engine if it went, or anything major 'big bills' wise. That's what currently puts me off! Lovely car.

From what I read, the big stuff doesn't go wrong very often at all. There is a risk they will but at a low entry price, you can bang it on eBay and get most back. With depreciation on a new car, you're guaranteed to lose money!

I'd agree on some of the looks, but some parts I prefer on the first ones. The touch sensitive glovebox and dials are better. From some angles the front lights with bonnet bulge make it look more aggressive. The newer front lights are classier. The big one now is the price jump, earlier cars are a lot cheaper!

Slow tyre pressure leak could be caused by minor corrosion where the tyre seals against the alloy wheel. I had this problem on one of the front wheels of my XFR. My local tyre place took off the tyre, sanded down the corrosion and refitted the tyre - total cost £17 rather than £200 for a new Michelin. Problem solved.

Well I hope you got those issues fixed I have mine for 4 years and all the suspension had to be redone at about 70,000 Miles.. I did buy an extended aftermarket warranty which covered every single thing so remember if you get one of these cars you have to get an extended aftermarket warranty to cover all your parts your suspension your electronics and your engine in your supercharger also the bubbling of the dashboard that's an easy fix go get a heat gun make little holes with a pin. Run the heat gun over the bubbles and press it down with a rag and it goes away.. you should do it every couple of months and also tint your windshield it'll help protect the dash

TPMS sensor may have been damaged when the tyre was changed. Common failure on the x250 jaguar. These are about £30 and are in the tyre (it ‘s basically the module attached to the valve). You can try and reset it first to,see if this clears it.

Thank you. I really like the S Type too, but love the XF. I know what to you mean about spendy, my first one was daily driven, 10k a year and depreciation hammered me too. This time round, it's more of an occasional use car, if things go wrong I can take it off the road, and last few months it's been SORN as the roads are so horrible! At the moment, it's cheaper than buying a new Toyota Auris on a PCP!
