I was cornered into a decision 🤣 I still love the ultra wide, and if I hadn't of upgraded the GPU then I'd of stayed on them. It's not as plug and play as the 32.9, if I want to play other stuff besides sim racing, disabling nvidia surround comes with its flaws

@arabian9372 I started with a fold up PlaySeat and the cheapest thrustmaster wheel and kept upgrading! The biggest upgrade required my loft converting to host the new rig 🤣 Ah thank you! As long as people enjoy watching them then that's great

It's a lot more realistic in terms of feeling/ force feedback. The tarmac stages are my favourite too, best out of any title. I have a few long videos on my channel with tarmac stages.

Depends what your after I guess. I love dirt rally 1 & 2 but they don't feel as realistic as Richard burns rally. But Richard burns rally isn't as user friendly. I tend to go on there when I want to scratch an itch.

@@averagesimracergbr right now its the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X for my go too, the class isnt too fast for me as im still learning but its also AWD which helps quite a bit. For favoite track its still a little iffy but i do have a prefference for the the australian stages as they have some wide open areas and allot of tight hills which are fun but also very punishing for a wrong approach or too much speed. Any recomendations yourself?

@n8dagr881 I'm a big fan of the rear wheel drive cars, I think they teach you a lot of fundamentals which cross over into the 4wd too. I found they made my driving style tighter but being more selective where I brake and how I set turns up. I'm a big fan of Wales and Scotland too

@@averagesimracergbr fair enough man, i sorta hopped into the lancer after the starter vehical straight up so i havent messed around with RWD, i guess i felt good enough with my experiance from irl racing but who knows how the sim translates to irl. When i get enough money eventually because i wreak all the time ill be trying out vehicals aswell for a bit of fun. Scottland is quite fun aswell as its pretty open roads same with with poland as its wide open and visible roads.

Ah sorry I thought you meant a set up in game for that car and track. If your buying a rig for sim racing, start cheap and make sure you like it first. I started with a thrustmaster wheel and pedal set and a fold away chair for it

Everything works well with all games @3840x1080 (i am not using the full resolution of the llyama) so far. Only with Dirt Rally 2 the ratio is not right. Everything is somehow too flat or wide 😑 Do you have any tuning tips to fix the ratio? Do I have to make manual changes in XML files? I found no solution in game options.

I've been and had a look at the rain and it isn't great, I'm not sure if it's really changed. It's better in certain cars than others, puma wrc is terrible it's like a light is being shining onto the water droplets and it makes it almost Impossible to see.

I have a 32 inch 21:9 and play with headtracking but RBR is the only game where I struggle to find the correct in game position per game. How do you find a comfortable position inside the cockpit with the Pacenote plug-in?

Hi, are you using the seat position tool? It's a double right mouse click I believe. Then go to camera and you can adjust from there. I also use the built in FOV tool and set that within the plugin and make it override in game setting.

I will double check what I have selected and come back to you. I mainly use the Lightroom one I believe. And then I adjust it my self to stages where I think it needs it. You can adjust brightness/ contrast / shadows etc

It is very good. I think they all have their own perks, which requires you to play them all. I do feel that dirt rally 1 feels much easier to be fast than dirt rally 2.0. I find dirt rally 2.0 requires you to be more precise as is its less forgiving.

I agree with you in 100%! Dirt Rally 2.0 feels more harder to play but people said that the Dirt Rally (1.0) is harder when you don't have wheel. I don't know. In Dirt Rally 1.0 I would say I'm good but I haven't played this game a couple weeks ago but compare to Dirt Rally 2.0 I gave up very quickly. I need to get back to play it again I think hahah

This is the best rally game ever. Yes, i know, RBR is more realistic, but this game is the 2nd best in realism, being miles ahead in autenticity, stage design and variation, sound and graphics. It even has Rallycross and Pikes Peak. The true GOAT.

It is a great game. I do feel that when your return to some of these older titles you notice some of the flaws within the feedback though and they aren't as great as I remembered (not including RBR here) i have always been a fan of some of the dirt stages, particularly the welsh and scottish ones. the hill climb is a great addition too!

Let's give thanks that we have both DR2.0 and EA WRC in our game libraries, especially after the shitshow hovercraft physics that were the Kyloton WRC titles. Fancy graphics don't cut it unless the physics underneath are up to the job.

🤣 highly unlikely I could do the run without co driver calls. The first sector is probably the most memorised, as its also in dirt rally 2.0 , but there's a fair few corners that have important information that if not prepared for, bulls you up.

It looks nicer, sure, but the water effect in Dirt is a static loop with no apparent dynamism that reacts to vehicle speed/attitude - which EA's game does. They're each good in their own way, but it'd be nice to have had a combination of the two _on top of_ the actual visuals of heavy rainfall we've all experienced in our lives: globs of water pounding the glass, wipers at full blast and barely making a difference, reduced visibility from the surrounding torrent. I get how unpleasant that'd be in a game, but I don't think I've ever experienced a rally game accurately do heavy rain

Totally agree but the loop on Dirt does give a better effect. I find the falling rain isn't very visible infront of you either on Ea. The water which sits on the screen also makes me feel a bit motion sick aswell for some strange reason 🤣 I'm sure it's something that may be addressed at a later date. If only one of these titles would allow open modding
