which video by level1techs were they referring to the lsi card in it mode?

One thing to note on backplanes in the Chinese cases... They are usually very simple devices that do not use a SAS expander. They are usually direct SATA, or SAS breakout. A failure from normal use is unlikely.

Would it be possible to have a dual slot gpu on the first two horizontal slots and a single slot gpu on the bottom one?
@user-vp9zt3sk7b9 күн бұрын
I think they are just there if you want the enterprise support and guarantees but for a homelab that’s not very relevant

This card works well with TrueNas Scale running Plex server and jellyfin. I running it on a supermicro server with a xeon e5-2670v3, 32 GB ecc Ram, only problem it gets super hot !

The only difference between a 7500f and this 4244P is 100mhz extra base and boost clock. Same cache , same PCI5.0 lanes. So what is the point. Better service ?

I wish the 4004 had more pcie lanes. I guess full fat epyc or threadripper it is.

I have a couple of questions on this one. When mounting a dual slot. Gpu does it need extra support from. The bottom. Tray or is it stable just connecting to the back of the chassis? Also I was wondering about the noise is it just because they use cheap high Tom fans? I was thinking to buy this to build new proxmox server and buy some noctua fans or something that cool we'll with less rpms
@CreatorHardwareАй бұрын
You shouldn't need addition support with a 2 slot card. Yes cheap and loud fans are what is included, adding noctua fans is a good idea

I've seen alot of the fan designs on the 1/2/3/4u server chassis with fans in the front only or the front + middle. Is this design with fans only in the middle of the case good enough to keep the components cool?
@CreatorHardwareАй бұрын
@@ckirkyg I should be ok, if temp are higher than you like you may need to run the fans a little faster.

Been looking for a good component sized case to build my next NAS in and this looks like a good solution. You mentioned the fan noise: do the case fans constantly run at full tilt boogie, or can they be varied via a thermal sensor inside the case (perhaps depending on the power supply used)?
@CreatorHardwareАй бұрын
the included fan hub has no PWM fan controls, so the will go full speed, but you can either install your own fan hub or wire the fans to the mother board.

Wait wait wait... Are you the flat rate master or his brother... Like I get he was laid off so he would lean into youtube more... But does he also have a netwoeming channel? 😮 **Looks at background more** Oh you are the flatratemaster, awesome. You must have started this channel when building an editing PC for your main channel. It's nice that you started diversifying back them, i hope it all works out.

You complain about the noise. Play a clip of the noise gained at 15db. Then you show us how to replace the fan. And then don’t do another audio clip of the difference in sound!? How DUMB!

Are the fan less switches not able to deliver enough power? Also, I just purchased a triplite for the rack and it’s crazy loud, what do you use for the other backup battery?
@DevopsPete2 ай бұрын
Just picked this case up and those fans are ridiculously loud. I just left them unplugged. The details say they are 40x28mm and noctua doesn't sell that. You mentioned replacing them. Did you and with which fans?

How did you secure the Rackchoice 5 disk bay to your rosewill 4u chassis?
@floriantthebault5213 ай бұрын
Well... interesting... but no bench was made 'inside' a 2U server case, where airflow is really important and fan size and form can have a huge impact. As such, all those numbers that were given in the video won't really be useful for any real-life situation...

the silverstone RM51 would be a great case to build that in if you're looking for a new chassis, I just rehoused a threadripper 3960x build with a 2080 ti and 2 blackmagic capture cards (one HDMI and the other is an 8 port SDI variant) into one and its both quiet and great at cooling hot components, since its 5U tall, its got 2 180mm fans in the front, and can have a 140mm and 2 80mm fans as exhaust

Considering adding hotswap. Thinking I need a bigger PSU. Shouldn’t bought a Chassis with a backplane. Maybe next time..
