My HTPC is a thin itx motherboard with a laptop PSU. Seneca xk1.3. it's a gigabyte h110t motherboard. I upgraded it to a i3 7100 and it's a great little video streamer/parsec client.

Hopefully you're not actually suggesting a K series CPU with a H series motherboard. And it was more "I had this already in my possession" as ; 1. The "K" series runs hotter. 2. The chipset doesn't support overclocking anyway. So you would be paying over the odds for the "K" So a i5-12600 would half the TDP and only lose you 100Mhz, or the i5-12600T quarters for TDP for 300Mhz. Both much better options that would prevent this being a hotbox for anyone considering following the spec list (even if you went 13th or 14th gen versioning).

12600KF is currently 160.82 on amazon, the 12600 is currently 239.89 on amazon, and the 12400 is 153.00? My daughters system load is on the GPU and not the CPU. CPU runs about 60c under a gaming load

this was a weird one - i would ditch the small case and go with a case with more room and better, more straightforward airflow to keep components in good shape and for htpc do you even need a gpu - probably not

Primary use case is for gaming, and has to fit behind my daughters TV.
