Probably the most complete pianist I’ve ever seen and heard. Can you imagine what he would do with the Schumann or the Beethoven 4th?

The message I'm receiving is that God himself helped and inspired Volodos to compose this piece/song...

This is my first hearing. I am floored by his beautiful singing tone and sheer musicality. I also appreciated that he did NOT take all the unnecessary repeats in the Kinderszenen as do so many pianists.

Such an absolute gem of a concerto, beautifully performed too, but ofc the announcer at the end had to insert that "some people think it's a hackneyed piece." How can something so gorgeous and chock full of genius melodies be hackneyed? Cause its overplayed? Well maybe its overplayed BECAUSE its so good and so loved by audiences all around the world??

Wow, what a performance! The technique, especially in those fast passages in the third movement...speechless.

Technically the most ever accomplished pianist of our times, just near Kocsis, Zimermann and Katsaris. Natural and intuitive technique, not just boring training for hours. Then musically he is just as natural as one can be, absolute monster.

When I see modern piano talent competitions, I use Art and Oscar peterson as yardsticks. Unfortunately, it renders me totally unimpressed with the with modern piano talent. Probably because piano is not the only thing, now. Back then, so many people were striving to be good on piano you saw a greater standard.
