I didn't lived this part the same as others gamers at first because of game mechanics: removing Mio would prevent interlink because interlink needs 2 characters and I was sure they wouldn't dare doing that. But after that the animation of Noah being beheaded triggered, all my logics drowned in my tears... 😭

Wow. I had forgotten how strongly Future Redeemed hits you with some of these story/emotional beats. Had a great time re-experiencing it all here, but it's got my mind thinking.... Think Tank / Fun Fact Corner: - To start with the end, this DLC really is a Kingdom Hearts @$$ experience. Just as much of a master plan to fans who REALLY knew everything. The radio scene really blew things open for fans who had been around _before_ Xenoblade, as I've read the radio mentions a spaceship type from Xenogears & "Dmitri Yuriev" is a prominent villain in the Xenosaga trilogy. I only started with Xenoblade 1 personally, so I can't really say, but it would seem that the older stories might be altered to fit better into the Xenoblade timeline. It would seem the grand success of Xenoblade has not only given Takahashi the chance to finish an entire story like he's always wanted (XC1-3), but it has also finally overcome the copyright hell that took the old Xeno games out of his hands. - Although many people were let down upon Future Redeemed's initial reveal---as the fanbase was split on whether it should be a prequel or epilogue---the post-credit scene implying that the worlds were able to merge non-cataclysmicly was a delicate addition that respects the main game's ending. :) ...I hope that flute lead lil' Noah to a reunion. - Speaking of the main game, I will never stop thinking about how f'ed up it is that the Founder statues imply that ending was the last time any of them saw Matthew. Bro did NOT make it home. And it wasn't even a sacrifice as far as we know, as it took generation*s* for the Vandhams to return to the city. (Guess the ol' Vandham charm worked on someone... but it did give us Monica & Ghondor) - If you buy out Riku's weapon upgrade shop, you can talk to him again for a special scene about Lucky 7. If I remember right, it was a full sword of origin metal made by Melia (confirmed to be the master Riku's always talking about) that was specially composed of the souls of the XC1 cast. When Riku is then prompted about what he'll do afterwards, he says Riku might go out into the world and look for someone worthy of the sword. Pretending to be a merchant (third-party) nopon and applying to Keves. That's really messed up but at least he met Manana out of it. - - - Riku states he met Melia through his father being an old companion of her's. While many just assume Riku would then be common variety child of Riki, I do like to notice the pattern of Riki being Yellow, Kino being Green, & Riku being Teal/Light-Blue. I just wish they weren't so vague about the timeline between games. Shulk's/Rex's lines imply their kids were around that age or older before Aionios put them into the cycle, and there's the issue of their ages (why are Aionios Nopon like immortal and how long have Shulk/Rex/Linka/Panacea existed in the background of Aionios). - Going back to Lucky Seven, I believe it was the artbook that finally included a proper explanation. The thin blade is actually just the soul of Fiora specifically, and since the red sheath is recycled from Matthew's special red origin metal that means both souls of Pneuma are in there too. (Guess there's an inverse of Shulk & Rex getting married) - - - Double-checking stuff about the artbook, it does confirm Riku is Riki's son. Guess he would be too young for XC1/FC or just an unseen brother to Kino & Nene. They also confirm the implications that N's version of the sword is Logos. They mention they 'can't say everything now' about how that's possible, but I think the implication isn't that Malos was just revived. - Finally, I would like to say how excited I am about X remastered. I've already heard fans say the trailers include brand new content, so I'm excited to go in blind and see if we'll get more answers about this new Xeno continuity.

OH YEAH! ! ! (Slight spoilers for Xenosaga 3 ending) From what I've heard, 3 ends with Kos-Mos (yes the rarest blade in 3 was a down-low cameo before the DLC did cameos explicitly) being adrift in space. Almost everyone agrees the likliest identity of the "shooting star" in the post-credits is Kos-Mos flying by Earth just in time for it to reform. P.S. Here's hoping for Xenoblade Warriors to explore the union of XC1&2 planets. Imagine how busted Rex would be then, eh?

That radio scene and the scene after the credits don't seem like much, but they are HUGE deals that impact the whole series. 11:16:30 Takahashi and Nomura met before Chrono Trigger. Along with Kaori Tanaka (aka Soraya Saga who would become Takahashi's wife), they were already really close firends and had already started working on a scenario for the FF7 project. They only joined the Crono Trigger team because the project was late and there wanted to wrap it up asap. In the meantime, they got all the way out to create a massive lore for the FF7 scenario they worked on. In the end, the scenario proposal got rejected (too dark and deep, not a adapted for wide public and not in line with "usual" FF games) but the arival of the PS1 with cheaper game support and less technical constraint along with the support of Hironobu Sakaguchi (FF series creator and the one who tasked the trio to make a scenario to begin with) endorsing the role of producer made possible the creation of Xenogears to adapt the rejected scenario. Hence, Xenogears is ofter called "Ura (shadow) FF7" by the japanese commutiny since it's basically the adaptation of another scenario for FF7. Kind of FF7's younger Brother since it came out after in the end. This is the main reason why both games share common concepts and references. Some material created by the trio still made it to FF7. I believe, playing both FF7 and Xenogears allows us to have a better understanding of what could have been the original scenario proposal. A huge part of the Chrono Trigger team ended up joining the Xenogears team. The most noticeable protagonist would be Masato Kato (lead planner on the project) who was the scenarist of Chrono Trigger. The composer Yasunori Mitsuda was also among them. This is why Xenogears was first considered as a potential sequel to Chrono Trigger before becomming its own thing (Project Noah). Actually, a lot of developers who worked on both Chrono Trigger and Xenogears didn't join the Chrono Cross project because, at the time, they thought Xenogears 2 would be a thing. They consist in the huge majority of devs who would leave Square the next year and join Takahashi with the creation of Monolith Soft. Nomura tho, was stuck on FF7 and couldn't join the Xenogears project. Takahashi did actually trigered sort of an internal war at square in order to have Nomura with him. Sakaguchi ended up having the last word : Nomura will work on the FF7 project.

I understand Sharla's actions in Xeno 1 could be seen as her stirring shit up, but I honestly dislike that view of her. The writing in 1 was clunky sometimes, especially with some of the forced love triangle bits. I always took Sharla's encouragement to Melia to be, "Hey, you're really going to give up without even trying? Don't be discouraged because a phantom of Shulk's past resurfaced." Cause at the time, they knew nothing of how exactly Fiora was back and in what capacity. For all they knew, it was a humanoid robot made in her image. Melia is a very passive person, willing to take on pain and suffering in silence because sometimes she feels she has to suffer. Sharla saw that, and wanted to make sure Melia wouldn't do that. Her wording and tone definitely don't help in making that the easiest interpretation, I know, but the way Sharla acts in everything else shows her to be an incredibly kind and empathetic person. She picks up on social cues the rest of the group often misses. So, it's not too far of a stretch to see what she was saying in this moment as her wanting to make sure Melia wouldn't be suffering alone anymore. Again, your interpretation is your own, and if you want to hate on Sharla that's cool, but with how much you do it I felt the need to try and defend her at least once. Also also fun fact. Shania in base game Xenoblade 3, is a descendant of House Reid. Which is the house Panacea founded. Which means she's a descendant of Sharla and, even though you didn't want to say the other one, most likely Reyn. In the original Xenoblade 1 game, they scrapped a writing idea where Reyn was going to betray the main group. So, it's funny to see that the character that betrays the city is his descendant.

I like Shulk and Rex acting like their old despite being physically in their early 40s. They were around when Aeonios first formed and that's before N's multiple lifetimes before N and M had Ghondor, before Ghondor had his kids and before those kids had Matthew and Na'el. They are ancient they just didn't physically age. I imagine they're quite tired.
@FireFury1902 күн бұрын
Actually no. According to an interview with Takahashi he says they arrived into Aionios when Alpha decided to act.
@SmiIePIease2 күн бұрын
@@FireFury190 That makes more sense. If Shulk and Rex had been around for AS LONG as op is saying then they would have been some serious bums for not getting involved WAY BEFORE this moment. I assume A brought them to Aionios with her somehow? That would intuitively make sense to me at least. Bring the heroes of the two worlds to resolve the Alpha mess, you know.
@eratheoracle2 күн бұрын
Well, it's been a while, but time to do the classic end of playthrough comments once more. First off, remember how in the base game it's a big deal that when 2 people interlink, they see each other's memories? Nikol and Glimmer interlinked with Shulk and Rex. It's pretty likely that in that ending scene, they *knew* who Shulk and Rex were to them, which makes their parting ever so more heart-wrenching. Next up, did you return to Riku's lab after the cutscene at camp where they talk about lucky seven? Riku unravels a few mysteries about himself there. *Those Two* is in reference to Logos (Malos) and Pnuema (Pyra and Mythra), not just the latter two. The zoom in when Rex mentions them in the parting cutscene flashes to N(oah)'s sword, then to Matthew's Gauntlets. The latter have the Pneuma Crystal and glow Green, while the former glows Purple. Doesn't take too much thinking to figure out where the Logos crystal ended up. Different pieces of origin metal contain the souls of those from the worlds before. Lucky Seven contains Fiora's Soul. If I remember correctly, the mysterious fragment in the black mountains contains Reyn's (though I could be misremembering that). Dmitri Yuriev (mentioned in the radio cutscene) is a major character from Xenosaga. I haven't played or watched those games myself, so I couldn't tell you what he did, but he was there. Additionally, the light going to Earth in the ending cutscene is most likely KOSMOS, also from Xenosaga. Xenosaga and the copyright holders Bandai Namco are featured in both the Credits and the copyright notices for XC3FR (and were added to the notice when the FR update came out) so this is not a coincidence. Finally, speaking of the final cutscene, if you sync it and the base game's final cutscene by matching their end points up, as the worlds combine, Mio's Offseer Melody that Noah is hearing starts playing right as the worlds start fusing and the second bar of it plays right as the world's fuse. The background music also works rather than clashing horrendously, so it's almost certainly intentional. This game is peak JRPG for me. I hold it close to my heart and I'm glad more and more people are playing and experiencing what is essentially an almost perfect movie series with good gameplay between the scenes (in the most loving and best of ways) as the years go on.

They confirmed in the official artbook what Riku meant when he said everyone is right here, and with Shulk There ... if you are currious: Spoiler: Basically unlike Shulk and Rex the others kind of decided that the best way to help the world is through becoming weeapons Lucky 7 is Fiora Rext Monad he has in the game, is the rest of the game except Riki Riki is a weapon you can get in game. Pneumas core is in Mathews gauntest as seen while the Logos core is in Ns sword of the End as implied by the looks and glow it has. Basically N is a failed End Bringer. this was not confirmed but its speculated that Noahs blade in base game has Pneumas core, probably getting somehow Mathews gauntlets ... its why it lows green at points and why Guernica reacted to the light in the blade.
@SmiIePIease2 күн бұрын
I like that they revealed that and I picked up on it myself while playing but I do wish they were a tiny bit more obvious about all this in the actual game tbh. They don't have to spell it out directly if they don't want to but a few stronger hints would be nice. I would have loved to have seen Pneuma's core crystal on Noah's Lucky Seven in the base game at some point, for example.

I love how much meat there is to dig into with future redeemed. Theres the surface level story about not abandoning the past, about learning from it, about caring for others even when its hard, matthew and na'el's side. Then there's the deeper Xenoblade story, Shulk, Rex, Glimmer, Nikol and A and tge broader implications of alpha. And of course theres the final aspect, the speculation of even deeper elements, from what lucky seven was, to the meaning behind all the origin metal objects, to the background radio chatter referencing deeper xeno games. And of course, the ever present question of what that falling object means. Takahashi gave us plenty to dig into for now probably expecting we'll all not be ok until the next game. Damn it hes good.

The suburbs cutscene is a masterclass of simultaneous micro and macro level storytelling. The fact that you have to pay attention to both the radio and the conversation between Nael and Matthew is genius, and the execution of the personal conflict and larger world building is amazing. The juxtaposition of Na’el saying this is a paradise while we hear about human rights violations on the radio is brilliant. Tetsuya Takahashi is a genius.

The Xeno series is a masterclass of combining micro and macro storytelling. The micro story of the interpersonal drama between character is what hooks us and makes us care. The macro story of all the lore bombs is what blows our mind at how things are connected.

What's crazy is that this came out in close proximity to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, so it's like, if I had a nickel for every time a piece of sci-fi fantasy media used an out-of-place suburban setting to highlight how inequality creates a false paradise that cannot last on its flimsy foundation, I would have two nickels. It also comes at a time of generally increasing awareness among younger generations regarding how suburban sprawl is a terrible system that only benefits mega-corporations like vehicle manufacturers while only increasing social isolation and wealth inequality amongst the people. The suburban setting was an absolutely perfect choice on so many levels. The political talk about human rights legislation being blocked only ensures that we know it was an intentional choice thematically.

A and Alpha are two separate entities, they are by definition Binary, a zero and 1. The Ontos processor itself was used as a way to understand the other 2 processors. A clearly states that she only has some of Alvis's memories, and talks as if she was in the background when Alvis was alive. This to me suggest multiple personalities much like how Mythra created Pyra, 2 separate entitles 1 Processor. I understand wanting non-binary representation, but I don't think you're understanding the underlying concept. (Edit) Maybe a better way to explain this, is Pneuma and Logos were single core CPU's, Ontos was a Dual Core CPU, with each core having the affinity Male and one Female, to interact with their relative other Processors Logos(Male) and Pneuma(Female)
