Bunch of friends used to travel following in 1970 or so. I was trying to work to buy her a ring. But she made me buy Spiders tics. We eventually did get married. She was correct.

I love so much how Janis was such a free bird and could never be tamed or caged. I hate that drugs took her from all of us.

What a group what a story and this song is a true story written by John and actually it's John talking to Michelle because she was cheating all over him. What a hodgepodge of jealousy Romance and poison.

Keep in mind , the mix for this video is subpar , being there live would have been crazy good. In Santa Clara NO Cal FolkRock fest. One yr later they opened with ‘Combination of the two ‘ it was outstanding…

Yes sir. I think this is their best version of the song, and they sang it a lot. Probably at the top of their game here. At 2:25 Mama really belts it out. I love her performance, even though they seem out of key at times. She really could sing, not just yell. Cass was one of the best of her generation, in an era that did more for American popular music than any other.

This happened to be one of my assignments for school and overall I'm embarrassed. My reason is I guess Ive been diluted and blind to education and seeing this made me realize why education is important. Looking back, I wish teachers told me in quote that I need to have education so I can problem solve companies and not only that run a successful one by avoiding the grade D/F and the errors and trials. Sad for many years

One of the highlights of my lifelong love affair with the cinema was speaking with D.A. at the 2016 Virginia Film Festival. The man was warmth & cool, defined. I cherish (and own physical media of) all his available films. Montery Pop is as fresh, urgent and potent today as the three days over which it was filmed 56 years ago.

Can someone tell me, what is the name of that scratchy thing Janis is playing at the beginning of the song? It’s all over 1970s television music and I’ve never known what it was called.

Went into Hartford and bought the tickets, then lost them on the way home. My friend and I were just scrawny little 8th grade boys, but thankfully we had remembered the seat numbers. My father dropped us off for the concert, and the very "classical looking" usher listened to our story. He took us to where our seats were and we waited until everybody had come in. When he realized that the seats we had told him about had stayed empty, he just nicely let us have them. Score one for the bridging the generation gap that night. Janis was predictably amazing .... absolutely amazing, but the entire BB&HC band was also extremely polished and wonderful. Much more polished than this performance. A very good, tightly rehearsed group! I was sorry that she went out on her own. There is really nothing that seems to touch that "Cheap Thrills" album, (even though my mother almost made me throw it out when she saw that R.Crumb cover. LOL!

Here from "Documentary Now" episode "The Bunker". I have not seen this before, but just from the trailer I can say that I am in AWE of the amount of detail Mulaney and Hader put into their satire. I will have to watch this!
