Hi I would like to thank you for the car ride on Route 6, across the USA. I've been following your tours since 2018. With a very good quality of recording (previously 1080p now 1440p). I wish the team happy holidays and happy new year and stay healthy. My wish for 2025 would be a tour of North-South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma Texas. So through the prairie from north to south or vice versa. Thanks again for that, so you see a little the USA as if you were driving yourself.
@unclecoolie2 күн бұрын
Thank you! I've been recording in 2160p since 2019, and uploading exclusively in that resolution since the end of 2021. I will have to see what 2025 brings me. I'm starting a new job in January, so it may make things somewhat difficult, but I'll figure out something. I want to eventually go to Alaska and Hawaii, as they are the only two states that I haven't been to yet.
@haraldsachwitz75152 күн бұрын
@@unclecoolie I am happy and wish you every success and good hands for your new job. This will certainly not be easy to do such tours, especially in the far country of the USA. Especially since recording takes an awful lot of time. But thanks for the coming year for the prepared tours in Hawaii as well as Alaska, looking forward to it. Greeting from Frankfurt/Main

Thank you! I use the Garmin Virb Ultra 30, which records GPS information, with a 512 GB micro SD card that I back up each night onto my MacBook with an external hard drive (usually 4 TB minimum). The Virb software displays the GPS information per my selection, and I use Final Cut Pro for all other editing. I use Paint/Photoshop for all of the graphics, such as the highway signs and the map overlays.

@ ?????? I’m not judging him at all! Wasn’t trying to argue either. Just curious as to why he chooses smaller roadways as opposed to interstates.
@unclecoolie2 күн бұрын
I don't always stay away from interstate highways. If you look at my DC-WA & WA-DC videos, those are pretty much entirely interstates. Ditto for my east coast road trip. And even my NY-CA trip is about 30-40% interstates. I like driving on side roads because you get to see more of the small towns than just being on freeways all of the time.

Another example of poor signage at 6:41:01 No indication that US6 joins I76
@unclecoolie9 күн бұрын
Throughout this whole trip across the country, the US highway signage in Colorado was by far the worst. Fortunately, I knew that from previous drives through that state, so I spent extra time memorizing US-6's route before leaving Lincoln. I also expected one detour near Dotsero from when I was using Google Maps, which showed a section of US-6 closed. But I didn't expect to have 2 other sections closed as well. At least the signage for the detours was good.

Very beautiful and varied section, Midwest at its best from Lincoln to Denver, and then great landscapes as we cross Loveland and Vail passes. Brought back nice memories from my RV road trip, we drove on the last day of the trip from Grand Junction to Denver, but over Aspen and Independence Pass, touching some sections of road 6, on the concurrent sections with I-70. Thanks a lot for the video, greetings from a road-tripper from Germany!

1. Were you driving or sitting in the front passenger seat? 2. What a beautiful landscape! 3. speed bumps on a freeway? 4. Lanes end that quick at 53:00?
@unclecoolie13 күн бұрын
I was riding in the front passenger seat, as I don't have confidence to drive in a place like Kenya, especially driving on the other side of the road. I'd worry that I'd forget which lane I'm supposed to be in and crash into someone head on. The speed bumps are common as there aren't enough police to patrol for speeders.
