Theres a lot of hate between black men and black women. And both seem to use interracial relationships as a way to cope -- which is dehumanizing to the non black partner who thinks she/he is in an actual relationship and not in one made out of resentment.

I got my locs in 2023 a little before I turned 22 after being told for so long by people around me that they could see me with locs. It was like the timing was just finally right, and now in 2025 I feel like they're really keeping me grounded with all this foolishness going on in JANUARY alone. I'm so grateful to be on this journey 💖🙏🏽

I had my braces as a teenager twice and one as a young adult like 19 and DID not take care of my teeth. I will 30 this year and will be paying out of my own pocket and I’m not playing this time around 😂

Missed you, but I totally understand!! I too got braces in my 30’s…38 to be exact 😂. Like you, I got braces on my top row before getting them on the bottom; that definitely eased me into the process. I’m almost 8 months in with my braces and they aren’t bad at all. I’ve definitely noticed a change in my problem teeth and my overall bite. I have some sensitivity when I get them tightened because they normally give me a new wire that really does its job lol. But otherwise, just the normal complaints of food getting stuck and the brackets rubbing against my cheeks. Also, congratulations on 9 years loc’d! I’m about 4.5 years in myself. Absolutely love your locs!

Welcome back Sammy!! Girl I feel you on everything! I just posted a video after not doing so for months and I felt so off lol. Anyway, I also got braces at like 35 but I had Invisalign 🥴. I really wanted the grillz but my dentist said I wasn’t a good candidate for those I guess because of where my gap was. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Yours looks cute on you! congrats on your 9 years loc’d !!!🎉

I got braces at 27 and felt the same way. Honestly cursed my mom for not getting them for me as a child 😂 but I’m glad I got them as an adult because now I am taking the health of my teeth a lot more seriously and knew that I would keep up with the maintenance after my braces were removed. I actually started to love the way they looked and kind of miss them minus the food getting stuck in the brackets, retightenings and the continuous scraping of my cheeks 😭 me and dental wax knew each other on a first name basis lol. Girl social media is a ghetto hot mess. I swear it’s not real lol. I have been using conditioner in my locs since my one year anniversary. It started because I needed to add moisture back to them after coloring them but conditioner is honestly not as harming for locs as everyone wants you to believe. I dilute the conditioner in a applicator bottle with water and focus it on the length of my hair to minimize potential product buildup. I use the Palmers leave in conditioner (recommended from one of your videos 🤗) diluted in aloe water in a continuous spray bottle in between washes to keep my hair hydrated. 4 years loc’d in February 2025 😍 Glad you are back. We missed that personality of yours ❤️❤️

Had braces for about 3 yrs before getting them off in Oct. Also started locs shortly after getting braces and what a journey. I felt rough for a min but looking back it was a beautiful time for me spiritually and the roughness was all in my head 😂. I’ll be 3 yrs loc’d 1/12/25 and 30 in Feb and lovin how my smiled turned out. Enjoy the ride and get a Waterpik if you don’t have one already. They’re a lifesaver with braces 🙏🏾

Ooooo this 🎯 I’m “working through” a break up with someone I wasn’t in a relationship with but we were “building” for a year. It’s ending because of everything you said in this video . And I kid you not, today he told me I never said I needed more so I did would anyone would do and searched it in the messages search bar. Realized I had been vocalizing my needs since JUNEEEE ! So half the time we’ve been not dating I’ve been accepting breadcrumbs. When I saw how many times I mentioned it paired with his defensive reaction my heart shattered for myself. How can I tell him i deserve to receive love and affection and respect when I am not respecting myself by continuing to accept less than what I need. I love the concept of this video , I’m currently in the process of getting braces at 33 and at first I was feeling kinda insecure about it and then I was like I would feel even more insecure with busted up teeth so yeah lol plus I get what you mean about being so over the internet and social media ; it is ghetto being on there which is why I don’t have any😂 I’m 33, single living my life and figuring myself out and I love it . Ppl use to make 33 feel so old but as the older folks say you are only as old as you feel . It’s not a competition you know , you move at your own pace . I live in Georgia myself , I’ve been here 4 years and I used to love being here but I’ve have had enough of GA now and moving west in the summer to see what’s over there . That is what living life is about , doing what you want when you want , exploring , meeting people and learning as you go. You have great energy Sammy and keep it up you’re doing great sis.
