Personally, I had the strong independent woman that did not need a man mentality because I was raised that way. It took me growing as a person and a woman to realize thats not what I want. I learned to be vulnerable and embrace my femininity.

I do agree this is a natural mode of being for a woman to love, nurture and dote on their lover. HOWEVER I believe the issue is that there are very few men worthy of this affection. Men who RECIPROCATE this care and RESPECT us are very rareeeeee! This cannot be glossed over because many women who crave this type of relationship you are describing have had their vulnerability taken advantage of. These disgruntled women make up a majority which is why the “n*ggas ain’t sh*t” rhetoric is so loud. We should really address the question of why men cannot show up for women in the same way we are willing and ready to show up for them. Thanks for your video.

I say being called a “pick me” is a compliment bc I got picked, so thank ya! I love feeding my husband, being there for him emotionally, making sure the place is clean so he and I can focus. In return he gives me more than I can ask for❤

I'm tuned in!!!!!! 😘😘😘 I look at doing for a man as "It ain't tricking if you got it". I got so much love for myself as a woman until my cup runneth over. I got so much love and comfort to give because I pour into self first. I got it to give, so I don't feel "tricked "

😂😂😂 why you being weird to me, them inserts are on point. Us as women need to be around men that make us feel SAFE and that requires us to know what safety feels like for us. Even if the roles aren’t “ traditional” it should work for both parties showing up as their natural, higher self.

Gotta love our men. It’s time to stop resisting our natural impulse to love on one another. Thank you for this vid sis 🙏🏽 I agree with everything you said.

I didn’t adopt this mindset until recently. I’m naturally a person who cares and wants to do for others but because it was taken advantage of so often in my life, when I met my husband I had some resistance. It wasn’t until the pandemic that I looked at him and said damn I do need you. I need you. And it shifted the way I looked at taking care of him and receiving that care back. I love it here now lol

I used to have that independent women mentality as well.. wondering why I couldn’t find a man or no one wanted to be with me .. but now that I’m in a relationship I look back on how I was living and I understand ; in society and in the media today it’s pushed to be independent and to be heartless because they don’t want man and women households.. especially black women/man. We are a force when brought together. It feels a void knowing you catering to your man I understand what you mean even with simply cooking … I love this

TALK👏🏾ABOUT 👏🏾IT👏🏾. I am here for this conversation. I LOVE my man 😍 I had a similar experience where I loathe washing dishes but everytime I’m at my his house I’m cleaning the entire kitchen and it makes me happy just because I know it’s one less thing he has to worry about. So funny how when you get around some genuine energy, the loving nurturing side gets activated.

I agree 💯% I’ve always had that “I’m a strong independent black woman & I don’t need a man. I might want you; but I didn’t need you!” type of mentality. But since working on my spiritual journey & accepting truths about myself… I’ve realized I was doing/being that when I was operating from a place of survival! I had to do more & be more because I was in relationships w/ men who weren’t men. Grew up in age; but not in terms of life experience or responsibility! Once I made the choice to let go of those types of men.. you know the type.. that seek out & get “strong & independent women” so that they can kick back & do the minimum.. bcuz they know ur “independent attitude” is going to allow them to do shit all! … I think I digressed 😂😂🤣😒😊🫣 But basically what I’m trying to say is.. I did some self reflection; got myself together & only accepted advances from men who I didn’t have to raise (k Michelle voice 🤣 ) I realized that I was operating from a place of survival bcuz I didn’t feel safe. Even tho I’m not super religious I remember as a kid my grandparents use to always say “a man is the head of the household”.. and it always stuck w/ me. I couldn’t relax & let go bcuz I couldn’t trust that man to lead me. I knew he wasn’t shit & I was okay with it .. bcuz I wasn’t ready to walk into my own destiny. .but once I allowed the right man to find me (bcuz I wasn’t out here looking).. submission came easy. 🥰😊. I no longer wanted to “show him that I can do it just as good as him”.. Instead I wanted to be the Scottie Pippen to his Michael Jordan. I no longer cared about working 60+hrs/week bcuz he was working 80+ & in my head I had to “keep up”.. I was miserable inside trying to “compete” with my partner. If me only working 10hrs/wk is what we needed for OUR family structure, I was okay with that! I’m now okay w/ the majority of my role being “inside” the house & not in “corporate Canada”.. LET ME WRAP THIS UP 😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣😊😊🫣🫣😩😩 What I’m trying to say is.. when you find your person; in my opinion.. submission comes easy. Bcuz it’s not about bowing down to that person.. it’s more about having that persons back & knowing they have yours.. so you do this whole heartedly & without fear bcuz you know your str8. And when that happens; you can now operate from a place of femininity & not having to walk around hard body all the time. Lol. I hope that makes sense.

I think my main problem is that it’s hard for me to get past the fact that we both work.. the same hours. And I’m the only one cleaning and cooking. Like I’m providing for my self. What can my man do for me? Other than make me feel “good”. I like the fact he is here. I feel like my environment -America, has made it impossible for just my man to go to work. I don’t hate working. But I’m scared for the future. And how I will feel when I’m clean and cooking and taking care of children and doing a 8 hour shift. At that point, I can see where a lot of women are like I can do it alone. But I just sounds bad bc I don’t really know what my man would be able to provide, like what else could he do? (Real question)What can I do to help myself not resent him later in life.

Talk to him about your concerns. Y'all suppose to be partners in this. How he response will be your answer. Holding this in will cause you to resent him more..just talk to him.

Wow i was just talking to my husband about this. I used to be a feminists and belive all of that, but something just didn't feel right. When i got pregnant it all clicked. I want to rest in my feminine and focus on my family. It's crazy how I fell into the programming that men are oppressing us and I need to be a boss bih. Naw I want to mop this floor and make a couple sandwiches lol
