@digital.rancher5 күн бұрын
You can create talkgroups/channels that you can share with people you want to communicate with. The app has a facility to create a QR code for that you can share with others. Only those with the code can access the channel.

They need to work on less consumptive hardware or something. Solar needs to be solar. If i need something posted and i invest in weather gear for it then it needs to not be serviced for 5 years if it's sole purpose is just range extension.

I find tip really matters for stuff like this, the fine point tip is rarely able to transfer enough heat. Does it come with a flat/spade/chisel tip? The iron should be capable of delivering enough heat I think but its the transfer that matters.
@digital.rancher27 күн бұрын
Excellent point. The Pinecil comes with the B2 tip I was using. You can buy a set of additional tips, in a long or short form, including I, C4, D24, and K. The chisel types would be a much better tip for the job. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Use some good quality flux to help with soldering, this is a weak connection and will break again.
@digital.rancher28 күн бұрын
@@priyanshus3038 Agreed. My workbench is in disarray as I am in the middle of reconfiguring the space and I couldn't put my hands on my tube of flux at the time.
@Rob_III26 күн бұрын
Agreed. Besides flux I also think that most of the solder stuck to... nothing. I'm not familiar with the PCB but I don't assume there's an entire copper pad under the connector, just the throughholes. So then the solder "stuck" a little to the connector but not to the board; there's solder mask there so nothing to stick to. Even worse: I guess that if the middle/center pin was still connected that the solder does nothing more than keep the connector propped up from the board putting tension on the middle/center pin in a sort of a 'tensegrity' kinda way other than maybe at the corners at the throughholes. I wouldn't be happy / satisfied with this. Having said that: keep it up! Enjoyed the video anyways.
