So there's some shock / shaking power in this set ?
@Rising_Crane5 күн бұрын
@@Spectre2434 yes. The ‘Needle in Cotton’ has 3 sets: The ‘cotton palm’ form is completely soft, this is the ‘cotton fist’ form and has some fajin movements. The third form is ‘8 Change Palm’ and is performed with weapons.

I have a Wing Chun background. For a long time, I was concerned about not getting power in my chain punches and I had to blend in Western boxing strikes. Seeing this video has forced me to reconsider the whole way I've been chain punching.

I get the tradition of doing this with a partner but once you get it you can do it on the heavy bag you don't need anybody to hold it that's also SMH... when it's just you with a bag you decide the Cadence

Hand positions are wrong you're supposed to do cranes beak Fist and then open... if you don't do the proper hand and wrist positions and Co contract the muscles then you don't actually absorb the impact

This is a classic example of how NOT to teach something. Do the example a few times -- without moving to a new position. So confusing and not much help.

great video thank you so much. I can finally catch up on what I learnt years ago. Also where can I find the name for this music please, it's what I also learnt with at the beginning and I just love it so much to do the form to. Thank you !

This music is '24 posture Taiji''- specifically written for this routine for the demonstration at the Asian Games opening ceremony in 1990.

Just found your channel. So helpful. Would you say that you need "special" material shoes for tai chi? I feel that some of my shoes grip too much to the floor and they make it harder for me to turn the feet.
@Rising_Crane4 ай бұрын
Hi Mari, Personally I use the 'Feiyue' shoes- that's what everyone wore in China where I studied. So called 'Tai Chi Slippers' have very poor grip and will slide, and trainers have too much grip and you can't feel the floor properly. Go for very flat 'plimsols' or deck/boating shoes if you can't get 'feiyue'. Enjoy your practise :)
@MariDorot4 ай бұрын
@@Rising_Crane I see. Thanks so much for replying. I'll look for the type of shoes you mentioned. Thanks again :)
