Just curious as to why he took it out of the water? Thought that was not allowed.
@BeyondFishingFamily20 сағат бұрын
I am unsure why, It looked like a Goliath but it could have been a black grouper. If it was a Goliath grouper, you are correct, it is illegal to land them.

The drop line should be at least 2M from the drone and the ( sinker + bait) to reduce the pendulum effect and risk of the line tangling the propeller .and the next time with any electronics to have any chances of survival unplug the battery first, though salt water is a killer for all electronics .
@BeyondFishingFamily20 сағат бұрын
I have learned from that experience and have it longer to reduce the pendulum effect. Sometimes you can get by if it is just water to resuscitate electronics but salt water is a killer.

I make the sinker at least 4m below the drone
@josephdestefano55819 күн бұрын
I thought the whole point of fishing was to do it where you physically have to cast the line you know the whole thing about it I didn’t know getting a drone to drop a bait However, far out you need to is a thing wow. 😮
@BeyondFishingFamily20 сағат бұрын
If I want to drop the bait at a decent distance, a drone is the only way. It is really the only way to get it out that far. There are two other options, a bait boat or kayak.

Hey, great content! I am visiting daytona beach dec20th for 2 weeks with family. I am going to buy 3 surf rods, I am thinking a 12' and 2 X 10'. These rods I will bring home and use down the road with kids. Would you happen to know if and where I could rent/borrow a beach cart, bait pail, sand spikes, beach chairs? We are renting a place on daytona beach and want to be comfortable as possible but avoid buying to much I need to sell again. Any input is appreciated! Thank u
@BeyondFishingFamilyАй бұрын
Thank you for watching. I know you can rent fishing rods but not so much bait buckets, chairs, and spikes. I used to know of a place in New Smyrna that rented poles and I believe a bucket for bait but they are no longer there. I will try and do more digging and see what I can find.

Thanks for watching. I wish I could use the drone there but it is a state park and forbidden to use drones in a state park. I have gotten away with it in other places because rangers are not around but if you are in a very busy location you will not be able to.

We are doing fine but cleaning up a little. We will go back down to Ponce this upcoming weekend to take a look at see if anything has changed. We went to Flagler on Saturday, and it was pretty rough with some storm surge. Luckily our dunes are about 6' tall. I hope you are all doing well also.

That is a great question. There were two thoughts when this happened. 1. The fish was just dragging the pole around and it was gone. 2. Maybe the fish let it go and it was just down in the water. We chose option 2 and someone on the pier had a cast net. He threw the net in the water and we were lucky because he pulled it up in the net. 😁
