Did you use live shrimp to catch that drone? I hear they're good eating, but al ot of bones and not much meat. So glad you didn't lose it......

Hi, Yes I did not lose it. 😁. Watch the new drone coming up in a video we will be posting soon

I had 1 issues as well with the drone drop . Only I put to much weight . I used an 8 oz sinker with half a Mac. At first the drone flew out fine but once I got to to about 300 feet the drone began to come down on its own . Lucky my spotter saw what was happing an told me to drop the bait . I was at about 100 ft up an It got down to 25 ft when I dropped the bait . I to use a Air 2 S so all together The 8 oz plus half a macrell I wanna say was close to 12 14 oz of weight is the limit

im looking to get into drone fishing, I have a phantom 4 pro and want to know how/if I could start. what do I need?
@BeyondFishingFamily10 ай бұрын
With the phantom, you will need to get a dropper, something to drop the bait. I would also test it to see what weight it can handle and just not overload it. The more you load it the faster the battery will discharge and the center of mass might be off so it can become unstable. Just try it out first before you go and drop in the surf. I hope that helps.
@bensmith93538 ай бұрын
I doesn't hold much weight. Also not waterproof. Seen folks use it thou but there's better options that may be more costly. But if the phantom gets wet it's done

What bait release were you using on your drone?
@BeyondFishingFamily Жыл бұрын
I am using Airdrop - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIPLm5tqe62lqac. The Airdrop link is in the description. How it works is in the video.

So I just had to watch again as I just got the SwellPro FD3+ and I am anxious to use my drone and am watching everything I can to avoid those mistakes. Thanks again! and I need to get the Aqua Cat as the Fishing Surfer just does not handle the Pacific surf, lakes and bays ok, real ocean not so much.
@BeyondFishingFamily10 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching! Enjoy the drone fishing. The Aqua cat is great as well if you are in an area where the airspace is controlled by the FAA. For example, Daytona Beach airspace is controlled by the FAA and technically you need to call the tower and let them know you want to fly/drop bait. Usually, they are okay with it but will limit the height you can go.

Nice first run with boat. Better luck next time with the drone
@BeyondFishingFamily Жыл бұрын
That was the first time with the bait boat. My true goal was to make sure everything worked fine. If I caught something that would be even better but to me it was a success because the bait boat performed as expected. The other drone, yes, my mistake but that is how we learn. 😁

I did same thing with my drone. I wash it with fresh water 1st then let it dry next day work fine
@BeyondFishingFamily Жыл бұрын
Fresh water, I agree letting it dry should work but Salt water there are no guarantees. I let it dry, took the entire drone apart, cleaned it, and it still would not power.
@kaden7298 Жыл бұрын
@@BeyondFishingFamily yeah I took battery out right away 1st. Then completely submerged in fresh water because salt will damage inside no matter if dry. Then use blow dryer low heat. Let it sit for a day. Still flying over year now since. Also mine drop in salt water completely submerged for about a min. Took out battery and dump in freshwater bucket right away. The salt can carry electrical current really fast. So the longer in salt water the higher chance your drone is damage

I let the clicker on while flying baits and that prevents the reel from free spooling and causing the spider web tangles

Thanks for watching. I have done that but it seems I cannot cast as far. I just have to get used to it more.

Thanks for Watching. Even flying a drone, there is always some amount of risk. Of course drone fishing creates another level but it worked fine until I did not pay attention. 😁

Did the water damage the drone at all?

Water did damage it. It would probably fair better in fresh water vs salt but DJI drones are not meant to go swimming😁

the swellpro drones are good in this instance because they are completely saltwater proof so it would still work, sorry for the loss of it another thing to mention about swellpro drones, atleast the splashdrone is that if it falls in the water, it is supposed to automatically turn itself upright and you can fly it up again. Im planning on getting the swellpro fisherman max

Thanks for watching! I know and have read more about them. I am still waiting..... I am determining whether I want to go the fishing kayak directions or another fishing drone.
@rudolfviljoen518810 ай бұрын
You really need a dropper loop attached to the end of your main line and your sinker should we at the bottom of the rig. This way the line doesn’t whip into the propellers if your line snags somewhere… or you run out of line. A paternoster rigs works well.
@BeyondFishingFamily10 ай бұрын
That is a great idea and when I start drone fishing again I will heed your recommendation. 😁
@cabomfulАй бұрын
@rudolfviljoen5188 do you have videos with your drone setup and drone fishing ?? My English is not that good, so I’m not sure what to do to prevent an accident.. maybe you could make a drone fishing video about how you doing it?😃
@rudolfviljoen5188Ай бұрын
@@cabomful I don’t have any photos. There are a lot of great videos on YT. Check out MXT OUT and One Drop Cartel. They have some good tips. Most important things are, 1. Use a 1m (3ft) dropper loop on your rig 2. Lay rig downwind from drone before taking off 3. Ensure your lead/sinker is at least 3m (10ft) below the drone 4. Fly smoothly. Don’t accelerate or stop suddenly so that you don’t swing your rig violently under the drone. The rest you’ll figure out as you go.

Do you think the boat or the drone is the better option if only taking baits out 200 - 300 yards?

super unlucky; should take the battery out at the first chance to stop electrolysis with salt water
@BeyondFishingFamily6 ай бұрын
I did but it was in the water so long it does not matter. Fresh water it is easier to just let it dry and usually you can recoup but salt is a different story. We have a new drone that is waterproof.
@joeys5429 Жыл бұрын
You are limited to how much line you reel can handle
@BeyondFishingFamily Жыл бұрын
The problem was I was not looking at the line but focusing on the drone only. Its like windows trying to do to many things and eventually crashes.😁

Wrong rig for flying a drone... you need to fly a dropper loop.. do your research you'll see
@BeyondFishingFamily2 ай бұрын
You are correct. I needed a better loop for dropping it but that is not what caused the fail. The fail came when I was not watching my line and I ran out of line. With that said I have a better drone now which I am still carful but it is made for drone fishing. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpPbZYWig9Noms0&lc=UgzslsUjCgxBhmODGCJ4AaABAg.A7FNVUVK-4KA7NkPGiSF0b
