De qui est la cadence de la fin du 1er mvt ?
@pizzacheeto
@pizzacheeto 2 ай бұрын
It is a less-known cadenza also composed by Beethoven. In fact, Beethoven actually wrote 3 cadenzas for the first movement and 2 cadenzas for the final movement. Moravec always played this cadenza for the first movement. Emil Gilels also played this cadenza.

It must be the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, because the Conductor is Jiri Belholavec, I think?

La fauta totalmente desafinada, medio tono mas abajo que lo que correspondería!!!

No one articulates like Moravec. So much nuance.

Notice please pianists: this Old Master in no way swoons or grimaces or swoops about whilst playing. The work goes into the sound alone.

It's quite hard to hear the details in an acoustic like Dvorak Hall, I think.

His recording from the early 60s is one I have to hear every so often. Tells a story of childhood, skipping down the lane after a rolling ball.

Only discovered this wonderful performer about 10 years ago. So wish I'd been able to hear him live.

This is very good however I would recommend Alicia de Larrocha with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Lawrence Foster. Alicia hails from Ravel's region and is breathtaking in her interpretation of Maurice Ravel's masterful Adagio. ~ This great performances is available on KZbin. 🏵️

He was a complete artist. He designed the set, painted the scenery, arranged the lighting, brought the music to life and acted all the parts.

80 years old, playing variations "Without opus 80" :) ... When I am 80 years old (if I reach that age), I wish to be able to play as I do at the moment, reaching half that age. Ivan Moravec gives a proof here that it is possible.

One should know that Moravec was one of a handful of pianists who actually knew their instruments. He carried a set of tuning, regulation and voicing tools for each of his concerts. Piano technicians loved, because he knew what he was actually doing.
