@ufuk_yesildag maybe the seller doesn't put as much paint on, a lot of folk seem to think it's a one coat job, not so. I do two heavy coats and then as many dust coats as I think it needs to even it up, usually around 3. For a L4H3 though I would definitely use around 24-26.

Totally agree with you, the top coat is shocking on them, as you say it doesn't appear to adhere to the primer through whatever process they use. Good job someone had the hindsight to dip them or they would be rot boxes. That said they are a bonnie looking van and more room then their rivals to play with 👌

@@roughtownraptors I think I've worked out what the problem is with these affected colours. It's that they are affected by the sunlight. I was recently working on a silver van that had been sign written, in places the paint was starting to lift and come away, but not where the vinyl lettering had been. In these very specific areas the paint was still solid and couldn't be scraped off even with a razorblade. Recently just acquired a very straight 21 plate citroen relay (same van and problems) that has perfect paint at the moment. Think I might vinyl wrap the whole thing though😁. Yes, the body shell is very nice on these, good room and easy to access everything for the most part.

Vinyl is a nightmare to get right , not easy to work with and any blemishes stand out like a sore thumb. Unless you have a dust free environment to apply it I wouldn't bother. I agree though it doesn't last, even the most expensive vinyl only lasts about 5 years. Lot of expense for something that will only look good for a short time. At least now you can drive through a hedge without worrying 😂👌

I think it's all down to personal preference, when it's done right raptor looks awesome, when it's done wrong, well, it looks like porridge lol. In regards to consumption I don't think it makes all that much difference. Most folks economy goes out the window with the first IKEA unit the fit in their vans lol . At the end of the day people just want to be different, it used to be vinyl was the craze, now it's Raptor, tomorrow, who knows 🤷🏻😂

@roughtownraptors cool. Did you know that just by cleaning the Winscreen of the Spitfire could provide an extra 4mph, the difference between life and death. I do love the look of raptor paint though.

Yeah it's a shame really as the vans themselves are pretty decent running wise and actually look half decent too. Could have had a perfect van if they'd dipped them first the cheapskate's lol. Actually did one recently that had new rear door skins, apparently it was cheaper then getting new doors, mad.

Hi, if you mean filler then I currently prefer using onelite by sprint. It's a nice easy filler to work with. Key the area first with 80 or 120 grit so the filler gets a good bond, cheers 👍

Yeah I definitely think the boxers are one of the nicer vans out there, definitely be my next one. Currently have a dispatch which is the same as the expert and yeah I can't fault it, cracking little van and hopefully will keep going for a few more years, very underrated vans 👍

But appear to have some major contracts across the UK now, such as Police Scotland, various police forces across England, Royal Mail, NHS PTS (Patient Transport Service for non-emergency cases). My parents owned a 405 turbo diesel for 13 years, I myself had a 205 diesel for 3 years and even in 2017 I had the hire of a 17-reg new style Expert from Arnold Clark for a day just to move a mattress about 20 miles. They are so comfortable, and as far as the French cars are concerned they are by far the classiest and the quality of their interior finishing has really come on a lot. In fact many motoring journalist would place them up alongside Audi or BMW in terms of their quality and reliability these days where large family saloons and estates are concerned these days.

For a van this size you would need around 16-20 litres 👍
