Yeah, I had the truck for some time now. I tried to keep it stock looking but with a bit more strength with a few "Cool look at that" features, bumper, nerf bars, rear bumper & chrome wheels. Bummer someone switched my body, but at least it's still a Ford body. Also, the missing diff out drive parts... I'll get it there, it's just going to take time.

Very cool stuff! Great box of goodies and I am glad you were able to get it mostly back together! Sucks the bumper snapped, it is tricky to get good strong parts on thin things like that. Looks great all together and hope you can find the rest of the stuff you need.

Uncle Bob! Thank you for mentioning about my channel, and thank you for keeping my information private. I will print you another set of top bumpers, the way I printed them makes them look really good, but weak, I didn’t think they’d be that weak though. 😢 I plan on purchasing black nylon filament for the 3D printer, if those are stronger, then I’ll reprint a set of axle guards as well. What’s this tear jerker stuff in the end??! 😊 All good Brother! I’m happy to help!!! I enjoy your channel, and the hobby, so the pleasure is mine. I too Am a veteran. My channel is part of my self therapy, I do it for myself, that’s why I’ll never ask anyone to subscribe, just share my videos. So thanks again for mentioning about me. 😊

Just Bob is fine brother... Yeah I was bummed when it broke just hitting my palm as I flipped the truck over... It wasn't even a hard hit.... If you want to, that's up to you.. What branch, you can guess what Branch I was in (Once & Always). I do this just for fun, I'm retired & disabled, I try to speak too fast in videos and why the hell does my voice crack on video? Tear jerking? Brother, that's just me appreciating everything this Brotherhood does for others.... Now I'm on the hunt for ERevo/Revo or Emaxx MIP center shafts.. These chrome plated brass joints Tamiya uses on the prop shafts (center drive shafts) for these trucks just don't hold up...

I don't want to say much more here, I'll just email you to tell you our story. I did some strength testing of the newly printed upper bumper, I printed it laying a different way, I might shoot a video tonight and post it tomorrow. Then once I get the black nylon filament, then I'll send you the replacements. I want you to be satisfied with our arrangement. I had to watch your videos a few more times, no I don't need anything else, what we agreed on is good. 😊

@@UncleBobsRC My Dad and Grandpa were also in the military, Grandpa was also a WWII veteran. That's why I'll call you Uncle Bob because of our age gap... 😅 The Losi LMT driveshafts could also be an option if you can't find what you're looking for, but there are some modification needed like I mentioned in my previous video. I'm thinking of replacing the ones in my Juggernaut, the steel ones I have get hot, I have to grease up the splines. I got home early from work today, so I'm printing the bumper to test. I might have enough black ASA/ABS filament from my other printer, I kind of forgotten about, so I might get them bumpers replaced sooner than later. I have to test the different batches first. 😊

All I needed was something to run my lathe & dyno... Now I tried to run the lathe with the dyno (as it has a motor run/break-in/tester in it) but the dyno losses power to the lathe too fast that I cant get a cut in. I tried using 2 different 12 volt full size car batteries fresh off a charge and that didn't work either... So I needed this, are cheaper units as you know, but I needed at least 10 amps and more than 12 volts.

I bet that thing was a trooper in its time,all the usual problem areas had been addressed- drive shafts,gearbox ,shocks etc! A real shame many of the parts(and decals)are missing,but still plenty of potential there man,I've revived far worse! 😉 It would be great to see it restored! Ive got lots of spare G9 parts if you want one buddy? That thing had a very unusual front bumper,not seen anything like that before. Very cool seeing all those old photos.......anyone would think that you were a big fan of the Clod buster!😅 Im currently restoring Porkers old 89 mud blaster as we speak,and slowly compiling a video as i go.....hopefully it should be out on the channel within the next month. Great to read you James... The decals were on the body when it was put away.. At my ex wife's house, it was in the attic (loft), the only people there were her, my 2 kids... None were/are really into rc and had no reason to touch any kit I left there for years.. Then came the time I gave more than half the kits away and sold a few off (regret every give or sell), but I kept a few for myself. Then, it was in a closet, in a spare room where we let 2 different people stay, for a total of about 2 or 3 years, because they were down un their luck and had no place to go.. It was then, about 2014 or so I found the truck in this state, missing parts and a whole different body, but the body was an OG body.. Seeing that discouraged me, then about 2 years ago, I gave it to neighbor, 3 months later he gave it back said he didn't have time for it, that's when I said to me self, "Ok, I'll rebuild it" been sitting for another 2 years... I very much appreciate the offer buddy for the part but man, it will cost you more than it would for me to buy two parts trees.

Cool, I have always liked the Tamiya Blackfoot. I have original one that is complete. It even has the original half shafts which are still good. It has only been test driven in my house and that is it. I also have my brother's converted original Blackfoot. It has a chevy truck body. It has the JG shock towers with original RC10 shocks. It also has the Thorp conversion with dog bones. Thoughts?
@UncleBobsRC21 күн бұрын
First, thanks for the comment... 2 OG Blackfoot's, how can you go wrong... 1 all original and 1 modded... I'd say if you run them, run them slow and easy.. As 30 years plus old Tamiya plastic can't take any kind of use.. Clod Busters for sure.. Yours sounds great and I also have the og bones... However, when I got the truck I never thought and keeping it "fresh" I wanted to play.. Then I wanted it faster... After getting an RC10 T3 truck, the Blackfoot wasn't fun anymore so it sat.. Someone took parts and my body for the truck so I'm hunting for stickers (MCI makes replicas) but I think I would want OG stickers, if I can find them. If you want to run your brothers, I would do this: get a new one, and put his upgrade on it with his body, and use an MIP ball diff and I think you wont have any issues for years... Throp parts are hard to get and can cost more than a kit from some sellers... so beware of that...

@@UncleBobsRC I agree, driving my old Blackfoot trucks hard would be a bad idea. I do have a new one, but I have not built it yet. I have a Blackfoot III that I did build but have not driven it yet.
