Күн бұрын

Just before 7am on this fine Friday morning August 2nd, I set out for another speed run....
Peter Smith of CW-01 Creations has started a speed challenge using the Tamiya DT-02 chassis, see his videos for the rules..
My steering link is still tweaked from my last run but don't really seem to hurt the buggy much in terms of going straight.
When it flipped over I thought, well there's a "poo splatter fart" but it hit the gravel & flipped back onto its wheels, lucky save and no "Stride to the ride" that time... Lucky for me, my RX antenna sits about an inch lower than the opening in the antenna tube (pipe, mast, whatever) as the slide ground down the tube. I forgot to put the curved back in the tube (see above) to keep it from scraping as much.
Well, bottom line, I got the buggy to 62 Mph... It has more in it, I can tweak some settings. I'm on the road to 65 or even 70+ Mph, can it be done????
Thanks for hosting this Peter, win or lose, it's still fun (although I always say, speed is fun but cost more to go fast and going fast breaks more parts).
Thank You all for watching.... Until next time, Semper Fi!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks man, It's not easy keeping the front end down with this short wheelbase (looks short with the No Prep tires on it). I did this with an old Gartpot 4000Mah 50c pack, I wasn't using my power pack.. Maybe next run and I'll get it to 70 Mph....

Thanks Paul.... Ha, I still watch the show on Hulu.. It has more in it but we all know that early in the morning there is dew on EVERYTHING.... hit a clump of grass or hay in the road, its got dew on it, now your tires are wet... Hmmm, speed challenge in the rain??????

Yeah well, I have respiratory issues I been dealing with for years (the reason I quit smoking a year ago). You'll hear it if I have to walk & talk in a video (hell, I get short of breath just walking to the bathroom, sometimes). Hell yeah man, lose a car in the bush, hit the throttle when you think your close, you'll hear the tires spin/motor wind up, Obviously, don't hammer fist the throttle (Taylor) to hear it.. I don't the term "walk of shame" too many of us do it, so are we all losers or bad drivers? I like the term "stride to the ride" no shame in that, as I said, we all have to at some time take that walk (stride).. Oh btw, I have a tee shirt on that looks like "Damn, She really wants me".. It's got more holes and rips in it than a 20 pound block of swiss cheese in a gorilla enclosure.. LOL

@@UncleBobsRC Stride to the ride!! 😂 😅 🤣 Brilliant! 👌 The walk of shame, or stride to the ride is a fundamental part of our hobby, especially the speed runs. If someone says that they have never done it, then they are either lying, or just not driving their car hard enough!! 😂 Well done for quitting smoking dude..... I gave up smoking 'everything' about 8 years ago, though still use a vape. Can't say I feel any better for it, although I'm still drinking way too much, along with other naughty recreational indulgences to..... but hey, you have to have a few treats in life right? Must admit though, this hobby has helped me ease off my party lifestyle a little, given me something to focus on and stopped me going off on regular benders quite so often! And yes, we use the throttle blip method when trying to find Taylors rc planes when they are stuck in the tops of trees! 😂 All good fun! 👍 👍 👍
