Great movie, but you never want to see it again afterwards. The movie was suppose to be much more depressing, but the studio didn't give the director the freedom to do it. Was suppose to be the ultimate anti-drug movie ever.

No one ever seems to expect hairspray to be such a lovely commentary on race relations in the 60’s, and seeing reactors pleasant surprise never fails to make me happy.

Kill Bill is very childish. Pulp isn't suppose to mean anything. It's just the dialogue, and how the story was put together back than that made it unique. It's very similar to Reservoir Dogs in that aspect, but not as good IMO.

Don’t know if you will see this, but there are 2 types of music in musicals: Diegetic - means there is a reason to be singing, like they are putting on a show, singing in a choir, etc Non-diegetic - means, as someone else said, the characters burst into song because of their intense emotions, but it’s basically ‘imaginary’. And often musicals combine both kinds (but not always)

The point everybody seems to forget is what the stakes are. It's not only his dad's life that is hanging on the balance. If Miguel is right and Miles saves his father, he'll die anyway when his universe colapses. Alongside his mother, his roomate, the guidance councilor, that shop clerk... He might be wrong (storytelling being what it is, it's almost certainly the case), but what if he's not? According to the infodump, Miguel tried to buck the odds before, and people died. By the billion. With stakes like that, is it even close to being the moral thing for Miles to save one person? Putting it another way, try to remember a loved person that died recently. Say, your father. Suppose you had a shot a saving him - but if you fail, your entire city goes up in a nuclear mushroom. Including your entire him and everybody else you know, including your mom, your girlfriend, your daughter... Would you try it?

Some common complaints: - The kids were terrified of the hitchhiker, that’s why they didn’t kick him out right away. - Brooms back then were made with heavy wood. It’s like a small bat. The hitchhiker said in an interview how much it hurt when his dad was hitting him with it. Easily could disable a girl with a couple of whacks to the head. And she didn’t have a machete, it was just a kitchen knife. - The truck driver didn’t drive because leatherface could easily stick the saw in the window, and the truck was turned off. The movie is perfect, it doesn’t have any flaws. Everything makes sense. Times were very different back then. People were much more mature. Serial killers wasn’t a thing. Today there are so many dumb and crazy people.

"What does HE do? Deal drugs?" "He's a cop." "Statement withdrawn." I always chuckle at that line, because the two are in no way mutually exclusive. Just this year it came out that the person at the center of THE biggest fentanyl smuggling ring was the head of a police union.

yeah, movies like this were made to have fun watching and have some laughs and scares.. they werent meant to be taken all seriously, and sure werent there to give a bunch of charactors to relate to, or know the deep backstories, or charactor development, or badasses, or pc propaganda, or showcase whatever new actors youre supposed to adore.. its just showing some typically stupid hipsters making stupid decisions, and getting tangled up with some stupid backwoods crazies.. you know, its like in real life, where some old goon can easily knock the knife out of the hand of some bimbo, that gets saved by some guy you dont even see, laughing like a lunatic covered in blood.. the end.. the way it ought to be

It was a partly true story. Based on a few truths. The chainsaw guy real name was , Ed Gaines. He killed during the 50. He had cut up bodies in his house. Yes!! He did this. No one could be recognized. The bodies sawed up. No cop could do an accurate account of how many people killed? Only one person recognized was the town cop's mom! She was hanging dead. It hurt the town . Ed was a regular visitor of were she worked.A customer...is what he was. She was kidnapped. Missing one day She had not decayed yet That was the only one conviction Ed Gaines and his brother both was mental The mom too! It was a family of 3 Ed Gaines brother body was found dead.. They don't know if Ed did it? Yes, he was skinning of people faces. Don't know if he wore the faces?.But he stole Jewelues off dead bodies in the graves. So that part of digging up graves wss true. So this is not a laughing matter, people. The family of 3 was crazy Ed Gaines mom was filthy , mean and sadistic!! No one thought they were killers!! They just thought they were off. The entire town cried. They let Ed keep their kids!!!!

"His name is Robert Paulson!" I watched a reaction from a dude that went from "This Sucks!" to "You Have My Attention!" and finally "Greatest Movie Of All Time!" much like a three act structure. Fun Fact: Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter spent three days recording orgasmic sounds for their unseen sex scenes. Fake Bombs Fact: Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) was originally going to recite a workable recipe for home-made explosives (as he does in the novel). But in the interest of public safety, the filmmakers decided to substitute fictional recipes for the real ones. Beautiful Mess Fact: During the shooting of the film, Helena Bonham Carter insisted that her makeup artist, Julie Pearce, apply all of her eye makeup with her left hand, because Bonham-Carter felt that Marla was not a person who would be particularly skilled at (or concerned with) correctly applying makeup. Lost In Adaptation Fact: Author Chuck Palahniuk first came up with the idea for the novel after being beaten up on a camping trip when he complained to some nearby campers about the noise of their radio. When he returned to work, he was fascinated to find that nobody would mention or acknowledge his injuries. Palahniuk concluded that the reason people reacted this way was because if they asked him what had happened, a degree of personal interaction would be necessary and his workmates simply didn't care enough to connect with him on a personal level. It was his fascination with this societal 'blocking' which became the foundation for the novel. Author Chuck Palahniuk has stated that he found the film to be an improvement on his novel.

Full agreement, and just to be able to show these similarities that exist because of all the apparent differences had to be shown in the film so extreme stereotypes, which unfortunately bother some people. Nice reaction, if you can make suggestions for the future here I would like to recommend "A Bronx Tale" (1993) and "Over the Top" (1987).

The general principle for musicals is that a character should switch to song when their feelings are so strong that they can no longer be expressed by mere speech. So in "real life" the characters aren't actually singing, the actors are just doing it so that you, the viewer, can understand the feelings of the character.
