The only REAL piece of mastery with Phil singing...one wonders what it could have sounded like with Peter

This one song has carried me over so many obstacles. It was always the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks, guys, seriously.

During the 1980's, this incarnation of Genesis was a legitimate supergroup. Some of the finest songwriting and polished instrumental performances to be had between 1980 - 1987.

Phil makes even 7/8 time swing like mad!

STILL one of their best songs ever! Beautiful melodies, great vocals, and to think it's mostly piano and twin acoustic guitars. (At least one if not both 12-string I believe?)

Check out the music video for this one. Pretty cool with Phil as the crook and Tony, Steve and Mike dressed in their constable uniforms!

That middle section in 13/8 time...fun to play on drums but still pretty bonkers!✌🎵🥁

I am 62, and I am still listening to Phil and Genesis and it feels like the 80's again ! Wish they could make music like this again ! 👍

I could be biased by personal experience but this always seemed to be a song about a father separated from his child, as much as a lover from their intended...

As a lifelong drummer trust me when I say that this song is an absolute BEAST to play on drums! After 40+ years I think I've got it down...well i dunno maybe?✌🎵🥁

This is some of the first music I can remember my biker, tough guy father listening to in his car. I’ve had a soft spot for them since. 30 years later and I still don’t know what genre genesis falls under

The Melotron is what makes this the most beautiful part of The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Duplicating human voices in a choir is next to angels praising God. A stunning piece of music.

Anyone else remember lying in bed, in the dark with headphones on with Genesis on full blast? #Real Musicians playing Real Music. I loved this era, playing full album records over and over.
