I let mine go too…for a whole year…same as you…lumpy fibrous breasts and finally had pain rolling over onto my breast which felt different and drove me to go see the doctor. I was 48 at time of diagnosis in 2013 and mammograms in Canada 11 years ago didn’t start til age 50. I had an ultra sound first and the technician said, YOU need a mammogram which I had same day! Then biopsy, then came the news from the surgeon who didn’t beat around the bush and said we don’t need to consult with oncology because we know it’s cancer, Stage 3, er, pr + AND Her 2+. I did chemo (red devil didn’t work for me), surgery, radiation, 1 year of herceptin chemo and 5 years tamoxifen. I had a bilateral mastectomy…I was scared and I didn’t want to take any chances and I’m still here! Thank you for sharing your story. I wish you all the best and just trust the process. That’s what I did and I’m grateful for our medical system.

Hi! Good to know that you are doing fine! One question, Herceptin in Canada is injection in your leg or IV? Thanks

Invasive doesn’t mean it’s any more worrisome. When I heard the word invasive it terrified me! The radiologist was quick to inform me to not let that word scare me that it simply meant it was outside the duct. I had invasive ductal, estrogen positive, which is a slow growing cancer.

We are failing women! I’m shocked at the age is 45 in Canada. It’s 40 here in the states. But that’s still not ok. It needs to be much younger because more and more women are being dx and at a younger age. I was dx’d with bc 2 years ago at age 47. It was found on my mammogram. I’m thankful the radiologist working that day felt it was best to do a biopsy to check the calcification they found. June 14, 2022 I received the call that I did, indeed, have breast cancer. I had invasive ductal carcinoma, estrogen positive. After more testing and more biopsies a second spot was found in the same breast. I had a double mastectomy 5 1/2 weeks later. Prayers for you as you begin this journey.

I am dealing with serious side effects of Radiotherapy, severe nausea, sore and swollen throat, unable to eat or drink anything. Every time I want my throat to soothe a bit, I have to gargle with salt lukewarm water... And then I try drinking water or milk. It's been extremely challenging, also I am on Phesgo injection. At the moment my body is extremely acidic. I wanna know more about your nausea time experience and how you got through it? What kind of foods were you able to eat?

Knitting delusions… oh my am I glad someone else has those too! Or should I say ‘project delusions’, as I’m known to take books, a sketchbook (or two), knitting, my watercolour travel set, my spindle, and since I bought it a few months ago, I’d add my EEW Nano2 on top of a knitting project… or two… or three. Truth be told, only one knitting project would have been cast on. About Ken Follett: I read Pillars of the Earth in my late teens or early twenties. Since then, I’ve read myself through the other books in the series. I loved them!

Hi, I live in South Africa. The sun is always shining here and there is always the risk of developing skin cancer if you have a light skin. I developed a growth on the lower eye lid of my right eye. I do not know if it is cancer or just a benign growth but I went on a high nutrition diet for about two months and the growth have shrunk noticeably. I would like to share the diet with you. The soup Ingredients: - two handfuls of Chopped broccoli, one chopped onion (purple), two bags of green tea, two pinches of mixed herbs, two sticks of cut celery, Two handfuls of frozen and crushed spinach or kale, half a table spoon of crushed garlic, Three shakes of black pepper, seven shakes of turmeric, two tablespoons full of apple cider vinegar (with the mother), one bag of white onion powder soup for flavour, a hand full of cooked red speckled beans and a handful of cooked mince meat. Just add all the ingredients in a pot, add boiling water and switch the stove on high till the water boils. Then lower the heat until the water simmer, Let the soup simmer for an hour. The soup is now ready. I would only drink water in the morning. At 12h00 I would start eating the soup. There will be about two helpings that you can eat in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. I also ate a fruit salad every day in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. (Note: Apparently turmeric reduces the effect of some chemotherapy drugs and thus should not be taken during chemotherapy.) During the rest of the week I would also eat food that contains vitamin D like avocado’s, mushrooms, liver and eggs in the 12h00 to 18h00 time frame. It seems to be working for me, maybe it will also work for you. I pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that you will stay cancer free. Amen. I would also like to share the following six videos with you about salvation and two videos about evolution: Evolution vs. God kzbin.info/www/bejne/q5TCiGyMqd99ZqM DESTROYING Evolution In Under 3 Minutes kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYjIlIOtp7apaMU Watch the Holy Spirit Work in Her Heart (Very Moving) kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3OooHxoqpuef6s Fearing The Lord, God’s Discipline & Sharing The Gospel kzbin.info/www/bejne/mna2ZoqNa5uAqNE A Clear Gospel Presentation by Pastor Steven Anderson - How to go to Heaven kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4moloCNeN2sqLM The Plan of Salvation kzbin.info/www/bejne/hp7OmYWDhdunlZI How to Get Saved kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5u6lZ6rq9eHbNU The Truth About Hell (Selected Scriptures) kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4fdk5uVmbGkadU Best regards Chris “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. Thank you so much for sharing! I believe you shared just enough, and it wasn’t oversharing. Surgery is the next step in my treatment plan, so it was helpful for me to understand some of what may be next, and it helps lower my anxiety. Since beginning breast cancer treatment, I feel like I’m flashing people every time I go in the room, so I appreciate your funny moments as well. Thank you, and more blessings for the rest of your recovery.

This is on my mind every time I start a crochet project, sometimes it’s too difficult to weave in ends seamlessly, and you really don’t have to so long as it’s as secure a you need it to be and as hidden as you want. Whether it’s ‘proper’ or not is your decision and it doesn’t have to be something you worry about starting say a color changing project that will have multiple yarn ends, by worrying about it being seamless and not knowing if without the knots the weave in is good enough, you’re making the yarn ends a bigger task than they have to be, just breathe and deal with them how you please. Thank you for the video!! ❤❤

Hi! Thanks for your videos on breast cancer! I love the way you explain everything so well! I was recently diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer and live on Vancouver Island. Hi. Thanks for sharing your experience. I was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer which was hormone negative and HER2 positive. I had surgery followed by chemo. Then Herceptin. Before starting chemo my cardiac assessment was normal. By the 3rd dose of Herceptin inj I was very breathless. I did another echocardiography examination and found out that I have developed heart failure and valvular regurgitation. I had to stop Herceptin and now I am on medical treatment for heart failure. In my case it was not the cancer but the treatment for it especially Herceptin that gave me most problem.

I just was diagnosed with this same cancer a few months ago (2 days before Christmas 2023) and just finished my chemo BUT STILL GETTING Herceptin through my chest pot every 3rd week.. Next is my lumpectomy and then radiation. I am 50. My cancer is Invasive Ductal Carcinoma HER2+ PR+ ER+ Stage 2 Grade 3. Spread to 1 or 2 lymph nodes s the surgery they will remove 3. That will be later this month (May 2024). I hadn't went to get a mammogram for years even though with me having had a kidney transplant I could have gotten one earlier (I live in Ontario Canada). I felt a lump in Oct 2003 but at first though it was just a pulled muscle. It was my mom who encouraged me to get it checked.

Hi Sarah, thanks for the great video. I live on Vancouver island and have just completed my second cycle of chemo and Herceptin/Perjeta (same treatment plan as you). I have lymph node involvement and could not fathom getting treatment without Perjeta. Thankfully my husband has excellent health coverage through work that covers the entire cost of Perjeta (minus $3500 that the drug company will reimburse us for). I am blown away with Canada’s decision to not fund Perjeta. It is a false belief that we have free health care in Canada. I believe we have 3 tier health here: tier 1: The rich will pay for the privatized American healthcare, tier 2: private insurance pays for better treatments (as in my case), tier 3: Canada’s “free” public health, that actually costs Canadians a lot of money (I read 1/3 of all tax dollars go to healthcare). I wish you much health in the future and thank you for sharing your story!
