How did you drill those holes so cleanly?? I really need to do this for my table. FYI, 6 years later the wood is only ~$7.25. I expected it to be double. Of course the wood’s from China. WTH???🤦♂️

I need to do the alignment at 5:12. However there is not enough play when i loosen to two larger fasteners and turn the adjustment bolt to fully align the blade and make it parallel to the fence. Is there anything else I can do?

Is the center section supposed to have holes pre-drilled in it? Mine does not.

My hand-cranks do not operate independently--they're connected. So, I'm not able to move them independently as you show in your demonstration. Is it possible they changed this with newere models (I just got mine yesterday)? This would actually be a handy feature, but mine does't do it.

Wood in the States is remarkably cheap compared to the Uk. Ours would be about £5/m. About £18 for a 8ft length.

I have a couple of questions for you: 1) Would you please tell us the final dimensions of EACH custom wood panel that you made for the WorkMate? 2) Would you clamp a piece of wood using the dog hole clamps at the ends of the panels? I don't understand how the dog clamps can hold wood at the ends of the panels. 3) How do the long dog holes in the middle panel work? Would you show use using clamps with wood, in the middle panel, please?

I would make the new panels LONGER than original by a couple of inches on each end,so that you can use clamps on the ends and not have the frame in the way. I'm a bit concerned about the 2x8s cupping over time. The original panels were laminated or thick MDF,so no cupping.

I have the same saw…and problem! The slide mechanism is quite primitive and basic. You cannot use a liquid (oil)or spray lubricant as it will only serve to attract sawdust and end up jamming the mechanism. The slider should be a sealed and lubricated enclosure, This is really just a poorly designed slider. The best solution I’ve found is to clean the area (and all the sawdust area), I use the air compressor and a 2’ wand, to completely blow all the sawdust in all the areas in and around the blade. After all is clean, I use a graphite powder and apply that on the slider. This has resolved the issue for me. As long as you are diligent in performing this after every use, you should not have any problems.

Great tutorial, well done and easy to understand. Every time I buy something from Harbor Freight that has to be assembled, I always end up looking for a how-to video because their instructions are clear as mud. I watched your video and got it put together in just a few minutes. Thank you so much!

I live in an apartment where I don't have a good indoor space for the workbench. I live in a mostly dry climate with rain just a few times a year and have thought about buying something like this to have on my 3rd story uncovered balcony to do woodworking projects in my free time. I'm wondering if either of these could be left outside in the sun and occasional rain with maybe a tarp over it when not in use?

Easier, 4x4 sheet of plywood with 2x4 mounted on the bottom of the plywood. Clamp 2×4 into bench, and you have a large table

I bought one of these just the other day and upon trying to clamp onto my board, there just wasn’t enough clam power to keep the darn bar from being loose goody, took it right back. Now maybe mine was defective, the store had one other one but I didn’t want to mess with it, the two trips probably cost me $4 bucks in gas!

Thank you for this video. If the belt is connected both sides, turning one handle will move both equally. My belt is off one side so i can tightened at an angle for awkward shaped items. I don't mind spinning both handles separately.
