The newer T-2 rack (since 2020) has better welds and a better powder coat. Probably the best 2x2 11 gauge rack under $400. What pull up bar is that? It looks like it’s welded on?

How can I bench Heavy alone?
@WorkMateGuy
@WorkMateGuy 2 жыл бұрын
Good question and I bench alone all the time using the squat rack in this video using the safety bars. I took a light weight section of pvc pipe and simulated doing a bench press to get the safety bars at the right height. With my back flat on the bench and chest normal the pipe rests on the safety bars with just enough room for me to slide out from underneath. The holes in this rack are 2" apart. I had to put some wood under one end of my bench to get the height just right. I also have the Titan T-2 Series Adjustable Monolift Attachments. These make a big difference and worth the investment.

Not getting a response from Titan, hope you can help. After looking at many cages I've decided on this one, but found a concern that the specs I've read don't provide the best answer. I've mostly standard bars. Mine measure 42 inches between the inside collars, would these and does your standard bar fit evenly and level on the J hooks? Thanks...
@WorkMateGuy
@WorkMateGuy 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Charles. My Rogue & Titan olympic bars have 51 3/4" between collars. The outside dimension for the cage is 48". Unless you can move the collars to 51"+ this cage is too wide for your bar. I can't think of any safe way to modify or accessorize this rack to accomodate your 42" dimension. If you have the budget you can get into a decent olympic set with 300 lbs without robbing a bank. And then sell your standard set to make up the difference. I hope this helps. - John BTW, I am assuming that when you say Standard you are referring to a bar that is 1" in diameter.

One thing that's still not clear to me is, do I have to bolt this down or is it designed to be a flat foot rack? My setup will be inside on horse stall mats placed over laminate flooring. I understood the part about the bolts sticking through and drilling holes in the platform, but no actual bolts or screws are going into the actual floor, correct?
@WorkMateGuy
@WorkMateGuy 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, I have not bolted this to the floor or the wood it is sitting on. I use the extra weights you see on the bottom to keep it stable. I suspect that the bolt heads on the bottom will press into the horse stall mats enough to make it stable. This rack is about 100 lbs and pretty stable. If you are going to be swinging on the pull up bar you may have some stability issues. Otherwise, place your spare weights on a bar running thru the lower hole as you see in the video and you should be fine.

How high is the highest hole setting (21? since I think you said you drilled in the 22nd and 23rd hole) from the ground? And how low is the lowest? I'm trying to figure out the geometry of if it makes sense to go with the extension rack, since I'm afraid the plate storage might be too close to allow for racking of weights on jhooks.
@WorkMateGuy
@WorkMateGuy 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jay, I sold this rack and purchased the tall version some time ago. On the tall version the lowest hole is 13" from the floor and highest is 71" from the floor. Because my work area is so limited I store my bumpers on a plate holder on the inside of the rack at the back on the lowest hole and the remaining bumpers on the front as you see in this video. I hope this helps. Cheers.

Thanks for this helpful video! I'm looking to buy the short version of this rack (71") once it becomes available again to put in my basement which has a very low clearance and an un-even ceiling. Looks like the lowest portion of my ceiling caps out at about 71.5 or 71 5/8" so it's going to be a very tight fit! This means that I won't have the luxury of a wooden platform to correct any potential wobble issue as you explained in this video. Any tips for installing this on a concrete basement floor?
@WorkMateGuy
@WorkMateGuy 3 жыл бұрын
Yikes! I am wondering how you will stand up the vertical members once you have them assembled. I know I am let in responding. Have you purchase the rack yet?
@Krakaet
@Krakaet 3 жыл бұрын
@@WorkMateGuy Hey, didn't even see your response! It's a VERY tight fit. Somehow the uprights just barely squeaked in and I had to orient the rack in an undesirable position (east-west instead of north-south) so that it fit between the pipes running along my basement ceiling. I have about | | that much space between the top of the upright and the drywall ceiling of my basement. But, it works! I've lifted using sturdier racks....but, for its height and how light it is (I can actually drag the unloaded rack around the room if needed), it is a very durable rack and I have no fears lifting an acceptable amount in it. I have grown to like the pin-and-pipe safety rail system. Compared to other safety rail systems, they are pretty easy to remove and set off to the side.

Thanks for the review. Just put mine together yesterday after watching this and wanted to mention that those base bolts go in from the bottom up. If you do that then there is no need to drill holes in the platform. Also, be careful not to overtighten the bolts. It is possible to bend the metal.

I’m considering the t2 and trying to decide if I should build a platform or not. Is there any issue with it coming off the platform since it’s not bolted down? Thanks.
@WorkMateGuy
@WorkMateGuy 5 жыл бұрын
levrais231 I have drilled holes into my platform that allow the bolt heads on the bottom of the frame to sit down in them. This prevents the rack from sliding off the platform. At the same time I typically have several hundred pounds of weight distributed front and back holding it down. Which prevents it from tipping over when I do pull ups at the front pf the rack. You could bolt it down to your platform but it would be a challenge to do so and a pain to move if you ever needed to re position it.
