@@WorkMateGuy A few years ago I made a stupid decision with an atv and snapped the upper arm bone like a twig and in the process the shoulder was screwed up. And the wrist. It was kind of interesting because I knew the wrist and shoulder were also damaged but the doctor on duty and the on call bone doctor in the very rural western town clinic (no hospital)never even considered anything else might be damaged besides the obvious. That 1.5 to 2 hours cost seven thousand dollars. They took x rays and called in a bone doctor and he put a cast on wrist to shoulder. The R.N. told me I was lucky because the doctor loves to operate and put pins in and all that. So I can't use a straight bar for squats. I thought I could rehab given time. While for normal life rehab has been successful, not so much for strength work. (the rehab clinic here wasn't much good). (Could be wrong but everything seemed like an insurance scam if you have insurance and a good screwing if you don't) Overhead press isn't that great either. So I've just done dumbbell squats, free squats and and what else I could. I originally tried all the shoulder exercises. laterals, front raises etc. That didn't work. It doesn't affect deadlift much except grip is weaker on that side. I am doing zercher now but the left arm isn't keeping up. So reading and watching starting strength stuff I came across the SSB which led me to try to decide on which one to get. Which led me to your videos. I was about to get Titan fitness V1 until I saw your comparison video. I had no idea there was a V2. In the past many years ago I did reach some fairly respectable deadlift and squat numbers. I was doing old school stuff. Never could get the bent press though. And then for various reasons I switched over to body weight stuff and yoga and dynamic tension/isometric etc type training. I switched back to dumbbell and some barbell and some BW just before I broke the arm. I started out this time with a 45lb ea set of adjustable dumbbells which I had given my Dad but he never used . So now I have a home gym. I am convinced that intelligently applied barbell work is the best bet for maintaining as much strength and muscle as possible for as long as possible. I also think other things are important too in the training realm. Anyway your video was very good and your narration is very good.

Leonard Cook While my back problems aren't nearly as complex as yours, but they have certainly given me fits. The way you responded to your injuries reminds me of a line from the movie "Heartbreak Ridge" "adapt, improvise, overcome..." Three doctors told me I should never exercise again with significant weights. Being stubborn I did not listen and took up Tae bo, then P90X, and finally Starting Strength. Anyhow, your persistence is paying off and will continue to pay off in the long run. Good luck with your fitness.

@WorkMateGuy5 жыл бұрын
Hi Nissey - Congratulations on your new SSB. I know you will enjoy using it. I use mine twice per week. The logo should face away from you otherwise the bar would be unstable. This assumes that Titan does not swap it around. Thanks for stopping by.

WorkMateGuy so the logo facing you as you setup, then it’s on the back of your neck once you duck under? Confused here!

Glad I didn't get the V1 back then, the shoulder handle spacing is way too wide. Titan must have thought all their customers have shoulders like a professional strongman. Looks like Titan has done it again with the V2 SSB, providing a bar that is almost as good as elite fts or Rogue at half the price.

@@WorkMateGuy ...I'm not. I just check every once in awhile to see if you've had a chance to make the video I requested for the storage on the bottom of the workmate 425. I do listen to the end & click like to boost your ratings, but don't always comment. I guess I don't have much to say about power lifting or the machinery used. I have 3 sons, so, it's nice to know a little info in case they're interested in it. I do use *The Blade* to keep my arms in shape for archery. ;) I had to skip bow and gun season this year, which made me sad and hungry for venison. Gardening season is over and winter is here in full force, so, time to settle into woodworking projects. :-D If you've moved on to bigger and better things, please don't feel obligated to make the requested video. I understand. Take care! :-D

Kathleen Zimmerman Please refresh my memory for what you're looking for in terms of storage in the bottom of your Workmate. I used to do archery when I was a little kid, And I really enjoyed it. Was recently watching a video on Japanese archery in which A shot in total darkness resulted in a bulls eye. Cheers.

@@WorkMateGuy We had batted around quite a few ideas for storage and compartments for tools. I wish I could go back to that video and see the comments. Maybe a little higher in the back, so it would come down on an angle toward my feet. I would like to store chisels & mallets, so each one would have their own little "home". A removable lid to cover them would be GREAT(!!!), as they pretty much sit idle during gardening/canning/dehydrating season. I think that's it. Again ... if you've changed agendas, it's OK. I understand. :-D Not to worry ... I'm always around listening and clicking "like". I hope that helps you in some small way. Thank you for freely sharing your knowledge :-D

Thank you for a very detailed review. I just received my Titan SSB V2 and the main back pad appears to be too thick. Could you please measure the diameter of your pad on V2 and let me know, I would like to compare. Much appreciated.
@WorkMateGuy6 жыл бұрын
Mark G. The thickness of the back pad on my SSB is just about 1 3/4 which is about the same as the padding on the handles. How thick is your padding?
@maratgoykhman81996 жыл бұрын
WorkMateGuy - Hmm, are you sure? 1 3/4 ? Is this a circumference measure? My back pad on V2 is 5.1” in diameter, handles are about 4.5” , measured with digital caliper. Or about 15.5” and 14.25” respectively in circumference.
@WorkMateGuy6 жыл бұрын
Mark G. This is the thickness of the pad on one side. Which does not include the bar. So, The pad on one side equals 1.75 plus the pad on the other side which is 1.75 plus the bar which is 1.5. So the total is 5 inches on my SSB.
