Whey hey! Nice work. My first car was a 1983 VW Polo and this brings back many an oily memory! Points and dizzies rule!

Wooooooooow what a collection 😍 well coooooooooool !!!! " im a FORD , nutcase mate " My 1st car cost 400 quid a mk3 1.3L 3 door cvh brown , ( deathtrap ) poor car , you cud hear the tappets from the moon , rusted brake lines, didnt even lock ! One day i popped the bonnet in a petrol station, oil had leaked onto the exhaust manifold 🔥🙈 oooopsie , POLICE showed up n drove off, luckily it started raining i left the bonnett ajar , n limped to college , where lads took the engine out , replaced for an equally worse engine .......but now id lost 1st n 3rd gear thanks to lad messing around 🙈🤷 still miss that car though , wish i still had it

Memories of my late fathers' Royal Blue 1.3LS Very slow, but quite comfortable. Those Sunseeker seats are so very 70s.

I love the Mk1 Golf, but I also have fond memories of our neighbours until 1979 having a Red Fiesta 1.1L. I think it was on an 'R' plate and so a very early one. It just seemed so well designed for a small car. I've always been keen on practical cars & I really wanted my dad to get one, instead of our Avenger. Awesome collection of cars. 👍👍

Having seen that beautiful Capri I’m even more annoyed with Ford for that horrendous new Crap-E.

FORD marketing campaign strategy Using names like MUSTANG n CAPRI instead of the FORD branding ...........it's all a ploy Like what Renault have done ....

I’ve always loved the Cortina, ideally I’d have a mkIII if the budget allowed. That mkIII is one of the best I’ve seen, and the MkIV was superb!

Two things: Firstly, My Dad owned this exact car, in this exact same color/trim combination (1979 Allegro 1275 SDL, 2-door in Russet Brown)! Despite him looking after it well, it was a "bad un" and ended up lunching its gearbox all over the road! I have a picture of it if interested! Secondly: I did the exact same engine swap on an early Allegro back in the mid-80s with my mates in a weekend and were able to get the car back on the road after a long period just sitting in a garage unloved. Ended up selling it to a mate for 100 quid, who then used it for school for about 2 years before it finally met the scrappie.

In less safety conscious days, on a family day ,that boot would have held 4 unrestrained children seated on cushions. Typically there would be two or three vehicles in our convoy. Happy memories but ohhhhh the risk!! Doesn't bare thinking of today.

Sad that you have had so little time with this gem of a car but that's how it goes sometimes. My 1960 Riley 1.5 was not with me long but that's because I managed to set fire to it! At least the 10 will continue to give pleasure to a new owner.

Hope Mrs Miggins is paying you for the advertising! Great to see you tinkering - you always make it look so easy! I struggled last weekend to change the dipped beam light bulbs on my 55 plate Scenic (washer bottle filler needs removing to get to the offside, battery needs removing to make access better for the nearside - why so damn fiddly!) ... hard enough without filming it too!

Hoped across and subscrbed after the Kitch, UpnDown Allegro review. I had a Russet Brown 1750 Estate as my family company car perk in '88!! Always said I could to foreigners for the local undertaker if needed as it looked like a 2/3rds scale model of one! 😮😂👍🇬🇧

Nothing wrong with a rattle can spray job. I had an 87 Corolla which I bought cheap with very badly faded paint. I went to Bunnings ( big hardware chain in Oz.) and bought rust protective under coat grey auto paint and a heap of Heritage Blue metal paint from the clearance bin at Aust.$1 a can. It ended up costing me a couple of days prep work and about Aust.$80 to completely repaint it. I was happy with the job and ,as we like to say in OZ ,to me " it looks just like a bought one".

Great to see you flirting with a Irish beauty! Lovely car - though I'm so used to seeing number plates and knowing the vehicle age that Irish plates confuse me! Your touch up is way more skilled than my daughter managed when trying to make her car look less tired - I wouldn't be at all concerned about how it turned out. I was in the new forest this weekend, with trips over the border into Bournemouth on Thursday and Bournemouth and Poole on Sunday - tourists cluttering the roads up for the locals! Lovely part of the country (can I claim I'm not a tourist in the new forest if I live in the opposite corner of the county?) ;-P

The vw brigade will be hopping at this video. Gambling on the timing belt 🫣 with a decent trip coming up.... wouldn't do it myself. Can't be too difficult with the engine so open to tinkering.
