The hobbit holes are in the ground because it is COLD! Fridges didn't exist when they were built, nor electricity. You want to keep it cold, bring it to the cellar. Simple. (Besides, the temperature is on a constant level. Everywhere else, people would store wine in these holes, but there is no winery in Bavaria. Must be the bacon and sausages then!)

I've watched this probably 20 times. I'm so proud of you bug. I'm crying as I write this 😭 big happy tears. This is all a Momma wants for her kiddos, to be happy. Thank you, Kerry, for coming into Katie's life. She definitely needed someone as caring, loving, understanding, "Ride and die" partner, as you have been. You bring out the best in her. I'm so lucky to get to have such a wonderful daughter in law. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness and love ❤️ 🌺🌸 ❤️

hey, these rooms in the mountain are intended as a basement and also as a shelter. What is also interesting about Waldeck is that it was on the other side of the Schlossberg until the end of the 17th century.
